Job Context:

Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 273 upazilas under 49 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ As partnership with CARE Bangladesh, ESDO is implementing the Northern Bangladesh Disaster Preparedness (NOBADIP) Project in Jamalpur District. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Will be responsible for implementation of all Upazila level activities in the assigned Upazila and act as the focal point at the Upazila level. S/he will be assisted by the Field Facilitator.
∎ S/he is responsible for ensuring all plinth raising at HH and community level, FPP volunteers’ selection and capacity building, CRA-RRAP activities are implemented according to the work plan.
∎ Will regularly coordinate with the CARE’s Technical Coordinator - Capacity Building and Learning- NOBADIP to ensure MEL Plan implementation, generate KML documents such as developing training modules, CRA/RRAP tools etc.
∎ Will regularly coordinate with the CARE’s Sr. Project Officer, Structural on all technical issues to ensure sustainable plinth raising at HH and community level.
∎ Supervise the field facilitators for proper and timely implementation of the activities.
∎ The Project Officer will submit report inputs to Project Manager. All Project Officer will be reportable to Project Manager.
∎ Knowledge of Environmental compliance and implementation of Climate Risk Management Plan (CRM)
∎ Knowledge of good governance, DRR gender equity and multifaceted intervention
∎ Willing to spend significant time in the field
∎ Any other tasks assigned by supervisor/ management.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 8 years working experience in managerial positions including 3 years’ experience in program implementation, monitoring and Staff Supervision.
∎ Good negotiation skills.
∎ Strong field facilitation skills, knowledge in pro-poor program implementation.
∎ Preference will be given to candidates having prior working experience in the project area having experience in capacity building and plinth raising activity.
∎ Familiar with bio-physical and socio-economic condition of Jamalpur district;
∎ Ability to work in a team with good interpersonal skills.
∎ Ability to prioritize activities to act and decide promptly.
∎ Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point);
∎ Good verbal and written communication skills in local language, English and Bengali;
∎ Pro-active and participatory decision-making and problem-solving;
∎ Ability to communicate with people from different cultures and backgrounds;
∎ Experience in Cash for work (CFW) modality through Mobile Money Transfer (MMT) will be prioritized
∎ Good understanding on issues related to gender equity and protection

Salary:
∎ Monthly Consolidated salary BDT. 37,112/-
