Experience:
Bachelor and Masters in Law, Political Science, Human Rights, Social Sciences, or related field from any UGC approved university or institute
• Good command of written/spoken English and knowledge of Chittagonian and/or Rohingya language
• Good computer skills, including the use of email, web browser and data entry techniques.
• Strong writing skills and experience in writing Qualitative and Narrative reports
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and competing tasks, meet deadlines and maintain composure
• Excellent communication, listening and observation skills, including ability to create trust, support, maintain confidentiality, respect of all ages, background and diversity
Protection Focal point Manager (PFPM) will supervise multiple Protection Focal Points of BRAC, in close coordination with the project manager of legal activities of the organization and UNHCR Protection staff, to ensure achievement of deliverables and smooth functioning of duties.
Programming
Consistently apply International and National Law in observance of organizational standards and codes of conduct;
Maintain close coordination with Clusters of responsibility to ensure achievement of deliverables (protection case management and protection monitoring/reporting), which entails close monitoring of Key Performance Indicators of the PFPs (BRAC) in the Cluster.
Assist on individual counselling on protection issues, and individual case management, in complex or sensitive cases in close coordination with UNHCR Protection Focal Point and other UNHCR protection staff;
Liaise with and advocate with competent authorities to ensure protection outcomes, including the issuance of documentation;
Maintain records of protection cases and interventions in a secure database;
Assist in the compilation of protection monitoring data originating from camps of responsibility;
Provide oversight of the activities of Protection volunteers within Clusters of responsibility and promote their capacitation;
Comply with, and monitor compliance of, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all protection activities;
Participate in initiatives to capacitate authorities, relevant institutions, staff and NGOs to strengthen national protection-related legislation and procedures;
Stay abreast of political, social, economic and cultural developments that have an impact on the protection environments;
Perform other related duties as required.
Grant Management and Reporting, Monitoring and Progress Controls
Key performance indicators in the Catchment area reflecting number of counselling delivered, protection cases assessed, serious security incidents recorded, referrals made and interventions performed.
Protection incidents are identified, reported and recorded in a timely manner.
Compliance with global protection policies and standards of professional integrity in the delivery of protection services
Staff Management and Development
Build and maintain open, supportive relationships with team members to promote team spirit.
Provide ongoing constructive feedback and develop action plans for Protection Focal Points (BRAC) and protection volunteers.
Train, mentor, and coach team members to strengthen technical capacity and address gaps in knowledge and practice.
Coordination
Work closely with the Protection Focal Points, and UNHCR protection staff to ensure programming is well-supported and aligns with BRAC policies and procedures.
Collaborate with other BRAC departments to ensure effective working relationships.
Establish and maintain relationships with community members, NGOs, government authorities, and UN agencies.
Participate in internal coordination meetings and ensure effective collaboration with partner organizations and stakeholders.
Safeguarding
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
