The Oporajita Phase II– Collective Impact on Future of Work in Bangladesh funded by the H&M Foundation, aims to enhance the employability of out-of-work women garment workers and safeguard their livelihoods from the impacts of automation, digitalization, and climate change. Building on the success of Phase I, Phase II will expand to reach additional out of work women garment workers, including new participants in new geographic locations. The project will equip women with advanced entrepreneurial skills, market and credit linkages, and opportunities in high-growth climate-smart sectors such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, waste management, and circular economy enterprises. It will also address structural barriers to women’s market participation, promote green business models, and strengthen socio-economic resilience through partnerships with business development service providers, financial institutions, business membership organizations, and consortium partners.
iDE Bangladesh is seeking a dynamic Project Manager for Phase II of the Oporajita Project to provide both strategic and operational leadership across four districts. The Project Manager will shape the technical vision, oversee implementation, manage field operations, and ensure the delivery of high-quality results.
This role requires strong leadership in market systems development, women’s economic empowerment, and partnership management—collaborating closely with donors, the private sector, government agencies, and civil society to maximize impact. The Project Manager will lead a field team (including Market Development Officers), coordinate with technical units, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships to ensure interventions remain adaptive, innovative, and results-oriented.
Job Location: Dhaka, with frequent travel to project districts
