Job Context:
∎ JJS is a national level, non-political, non-profitable and Non-governmental (NGO), right based environmental and social development organization and is a development associate of Government of Bangladesh (GoB). It has been working since 1985 and works in some parts of the country with main focus to the South-West coastal region and covers both urban and rural areas. JJS work focus includes governance and human rights, climate change adaptation and resilience, disaster risk reduction, WaSH, food security, child rights & child protection and gender mainstreaming & empowerment. As a part of that, JJS has been implementing a project titled "Strengthen Civil Society and Public Institutions to Build Community Resilience for Climate Change Adaptation project at Mongla under Bagerhat District.
∎ Reporting: He / She will be directly reportable to Project officer.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ KEY AREA 1: DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT CLIMATE ADAPTIVE AGRICULTURE TECHNOLOGIES
∎ Develop and shape different types of climate adaptive agriculture technologies.
∎ Conduct climate change adaptation related awareness session among the community group members.
∎ Provide agriculture related technical support to others colleagues.
∎ Facilitate different training on different climate change adaptation.
∎ Attend different capacity building Training / Meeting / Workshop.
∎ Conduct Community Group Meeting for raising awareness among community people on Climate Change Adaptation and Gender base Violence.
∎ KEY AREA 2: DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING
∎ Prepare Monthly, Quarterly, Sixth Monthly and Annual reports.
∎ Prepare different success and failure case-studies and best practices report.
∎ KEY AREA 3: COORDINATION / REPRESENTATION
∎ Keep good relation with the project team.
∎ Keep close communication with Upazila Agriculture, livestock, fisheries as well as related department to hunt their technologies.
∎ Maintain a solid, up-to-date understanding with all the implementing organizations & other NGOs
∎ Represent Project, JJS and MJF in different forums and networks efficiently.
∎ KEA AREA 4: OTHERS AREAS.
∎ Obey organizational norm and values.
∎ Perform any other job assigned by the management
Additional Requirements:
∎ 5 years of working experience on relevant job and in that at least 3 years in any NGO. Having at least 2 years work experience in any (international)l donor funded project.
∎ Duration of experience is negotiable based on overall performance.
∎ Working experience in Climate Change Adaptation project in coaster areas will be preferable.
∎ Proven skills and competencies to work with MS office.
∎ Willingness to travel at project areas
∎ Should have interpersonal communication, facilitation and representation skills
∎ Excellent command on writing in Bangla language but English is preferable.
∎ Skill in file management & E-communication.
Salary: Tk. 19000 (Monthly)
