Job Context:
∎ The Bangladesh Centre for Worker Solidarity (BCWS) is a prominent labor rights advocacy organization based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The aim of the organization is to empower and support garment workers who are seeking decent working conditions and to advocate domestically and internationally for greater respect for labor rights and fighting for workers rights and job with dignity. BCWS especially emphasizes the rights of women workers, gender equality, participation of women workers in bargaining and protecting the human rights of women and children. BCWS was founded in 2000.
∎ BCWS is implementing a project titled "General Operating Support for Uplifting Garment Workers` Voice and Addressing Priority and Emerging Issues`` It is a 4 years project. The purpose of the project To (i) address priority and emerging issues for workers in Bangladesh,
∎ (ii) uplift the voices of Bangladeshi garment workers into international advocacy efforts and
∎ (iii) strengthen organisational processes and performance through a general operating support
∎ BCWS invites applications for the vacant position titled Project Coordinator for this project.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Project Coordinator will be responsible for overall project planning, management, administration, and finances, including monitoring and reporting of the project. She will ensure the smooth implementation of the entire project and timely quality reporting according to deliverables & obligations. Key deliverables include:
∎ Design and finalize implementation plans.
∎ Overseeing the development, implementation, and quality of the projects.
∎ Liaison and coordination with Govt officials, like minded NGOs.
∎ Ensure quality & timely reporting and close coordination with field office.
∎ Assist Higher Management to find opportunities for project expansion or development of the new project.
∎ Work with the relevant department for submitting FD-6, FD-7 and getting NGO affairs bureau approval.
∎ Team management
∎ Ensure supportive supervision to the project staff and volunteers at all levels.
∎ Ensure that all project personnel and targeted community receive the necessary orientation and training required by the project
∎ Facilitate the annual planning, mid-term, and final appraisal.
∎ Create a gender-equitable, women-friendly, sensitive work environment in the field office
Additional Requirements:
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 3 years of experience working with NGOs or other development organizations, preferably Gender based violence project
∎ Demonstrated experience in working with partnership approach
∎ Experience in designing and working with impact-focused monitoring frameworks
∎ Practical and extensive experience in training and facilitating meetings at various levels
∎ Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
∎ Willingness and ability and willingness to travel widely in program areas
∎ Ability to produce high quality reports, case studies
∎ Excellent skill in verbal, written and communication in English
∎ Proficiency in MS Office package and Internet using.
