  • Knowledge on accounts management, administrative management, Procurement basic, Climate Change, Gender justice and diversity, good knowledge of computer- Windows & Microsoft Office Applications, (Outlook, Word, Excel) and financial software.
  • Skill on report writing, coordination with team and effective communication with team, stakeholder and donor.
  • Financial analytical skill and competencies on financial auditing.
  • Competent to work under minimal supervision.
  • Having respect for different race, ethnic communities and gender.
  • Project accounts management competencies.


Responsibilities & Context:

DASCOH is seeking applications from qualified individual to support the organization in the role of Project Accountant for its “Strengthening Climate-Vulnerable Urban Communities for Resilience and Gender-Inclusive Sustainable Development” project which aims to increase the resilience of vulnerable communities in urban areas towards the consequences of climate change. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the financial and administrative processes of the project. The Project Accountant will handle donor reporting, tracking project expenses, vendors payment, Asset management, Audit and ensuring procurement processes are followed by organizational policy. S/he will be responsible for overall administrative support and maintain documentation records, schedules and details of project financial transfers and payments and day-to-day coordination of financial activities and financial reports as per project requirements.

Objective of the mandate:

  • Responsible for project administration to run smoothly, financial and record keeping as well as endogamous contracts with project partners.
  • Day to day financial management and other necessary purchases on a daily basis, check invoices, and produce financial statements in the shortest time possible.
  • Internal and external reporting which entails, emphasizing project finances.
  • Manage the project budget.
  • Management of project logistics.
  • Carry out other activities as expected of the project, where deemed necessary recognize and complete other tasks assigned to the project as appropriate.
  • Assist in project audits, ensure efficient and proper operation of related financial and M&E actions, and uphold accountability of accounts following the guidelines set by organization.
  • Protect the wellbeing of every team member, endorse measures concerning safety from abuse, and the protocols of reporting any and all cases.

Functions:

  • Ensure overall project administrative activities for smooth operation and maintaining details of project financial transfers and payments, record of documentation, supporting preparation of partners/stakeholder’s contracts and liaising with stakeholders on specific administrative requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring day-to-day project’s cash needs, transfers, payments, reviewing invoices, check all bill blucher with proper communication of finance and accounts department.
  • Track project expenditure and prepare accurate financial reports in a timely manner as required by the project.
  • Responsible for internal and external reporting deadlines- preparing donor reports highlighting the financial situation in a timely manner.
  • Support project staff to financial transition to implementation of project activities as per project requirements.
  • Ensure logistical supports including procurement of goods and services; staff recruitment; arranging trainings, workshops, meetings and events; contracts development; management and maintenance of project inventory; travel management; etc.
  • Responsible for other duties from time to time as may be required by the project.
  • Support Project Manager as a whole so that the project activities achieve results against stated objectives and outcomes.
  • Oversee the financial audits of the project.
  • Follow up and address issues identified in BRAC financial and M&E reports and audit observations.
  • Maintain accounts as per BRAC guideline, rules and regulation.
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation.
  • Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
