BRAC WASH with the vision to ensure that everyone, everywhere has safe drinking water, a hygienic toilet, and practices good hygiene, we deliver services to people living in hard-to-reach and underserved urban areas, including secondary schools. We follow a multidimensional approach ranging from developing WASH markets to building partnerships with local governments for improving solid and faucal waste management.

Main Responsibilities:

• Conduct situational analysis of WASH infrastructure and practices in schools and communities, and mobilize local stakeholders to raise awareness and ensure proper installation and maintenance of WASH facilities.

• Facilitate hygiene promotion by educating students and community members on safe water usage, hygienic sanitation practices, and sustainable hygiene behavior.

• Assist in the procurement, distribution, and quality assurance of WASH-related materials and infrastructure, including piped water systems, handwashing stations, treatment plants, and sanitary latrines.

• Deliver regular hygiene education sessions in primary and secondary schools, madrasahs, and community groups.

• Establish linkages between key local actors such as masons, drillers, entrepreneurs, hardware suppliers, school authorities, and community leaders to ensure effective WASH service delivery.

• Organize and facilitate training and orientation sessions for diverse stakeholders, including student brigades, caretakers, entrepreneurs, and WASH committees.

• Coordinate and actively participate in meetings, advocacy workshops, and forums at union, upazila, and district levels.

• Maintain effective liaison with local administration, local government bodies, and development partners at the upazila level.

• Conduct regular field monitoring, collect and analyze data, and submit timely reports to the supervisor.
  
  Safeguarding Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
