Project Brief:

To enhance Early Childhood Development (ECD) and reduce Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in underserved and substandard urban settlements of Narayanganj and Gazipur Districts of Dhaka Division in Bangladesh, the project aims to create a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 3 to 6 through Resource Centre’s (RCs) that will provide daycare services, pre-primary education, and legal aid support for their families. Over the five-year project period, the consistent delivery of ECD services will support the long-term cognitive, emotional, and physical development of children, helping them build a stronger foundation for the future. Sustained legal aid services, community awareness campaigns, and proactive engagement with community members are expected to contribute to reducing GBV, creating a safer, more enabling environment for both the targeted children and the wider community.

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for providing leadership in the field for ensuring operational activities maintaining quality such as enrolling most underprivileged children in the BRAC education system as per the project plan and mainstreaming them in the national education stream.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys in the selected intervention areas and enroll the targeted number of children into the Resource Centre (RC).

  • Execute the opening plan as per the guidelines and supervise the targeted number of BRAC Schools/Resource Centre with checklist.

  • Ensure teaching-learning materials supply on time and the proper utilisation for smooth operation of the program.

  • Apply different pedagogical approaches/new interventions and assist the teacher/ caregivers to make sure quality education/services.

  • Working for capacity development of teachers/caregivers/entrepreneurs and other concerned through conducting training, refresher and practice teaching sessions.

  • Report preparation, analysis, preservation/filing, and taking actions/steps for improvement.

  • Implement/execute different official communications such as programme guidelines, minutes of the meeting, circular/memorandum etc.to make sure expected output/requirement/compliance of the programme.

  • Effective communication/liaison with community, parents, Govt. NGOs and other relevant stakeholders for smooth implementation of the programme.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.
