Experience:

• The candidate must have at least a BSc degree in Fisheries/ Forestry/ Natural Resource Management/ any other relevant subject.

• MSc degree in Fisheries/ Forestry/ Natural Resource Management/ any other relevant subject is preferable.

• At least 3 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Development Agency

• At least 3 years’ working experience with the INGOs/NGOs/ relevant organizations.

• Around 2 years of experience in the implementation of “Silvo-aquaculture” or relevant projects would be an advantage.

• Experienced in writing technical and scientific articles.

• Advanced knowledge of data analysis using SPSS, R, etc.

• Candidate’s Competencies & Attributes

• Excellent leadership skill and organizational skills.

• Have proficient knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Well-oriented with the online data collection tools.

Overall Job Description

The Programme Officer is mainly responsible for ensuring effective implementation and management of all the project interventions in the field at the Upazila level. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join Solidaridad Network Asia, Bangladesh which contributes from national to international context through a market-oriented approach, innovation, evidence, and learning. The position will be based in any Upazila of Khulna and Satkhira districts.The Programme Officer will work under the supervision of the Manager – Research and development and will undertake the tasks and duties to assist him/her and the project team.

The position will be based in Khulna/ Jashore District and will report to the Manager- Integrated Water Resources Management for Climate Smart Agriculture.

The followings are the key responsibilities but not limited to:

• Stay at the Upazila level is mandatory for the effective implementation of the project activities,

• Development of a detailed plan for the Upazila level project activities.

• Preparation and management of the budget for the Upazila level project activities.

• Implementation of the project activities following the plan.

• Track and report the progress of the implementation of project activities.

• Maintain close collaboration with stakeholders, including smallholder shrimp farmers, local communities, government agencies, private sectors, NGOs, and other relevant organizations.

• Build capacity of the smallholder shrimp farmers, local communities, and others following the requirements of the project.

• Organize events including meetings, workshops, technical sessions, awareness sessions, etc. in line with the project plan.

• Promote good practices among the communities to restore and protect the mangroves.

• Conduct research to gather relevant data and information following the project requirements.

• Analyze data using MS Office Excel, SPSS, R, etc. for informed decision-making as needed.

• Maintain detailed records of project activities, expenditures, outputs, outcomes, and impacts.

• Prepare reports on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis and document the best practices to share with the supervisors.

• Facilitate the field visits of donors, higher management, and other stakeholders as required by the project.

• Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor and management

Project: Promotion of Climate Resilient Agriculture in the Coastal Landscape of Bangladesh through Integrated Mangrove Based Aquaculture.
