Job Context:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assess community information and communication needs as pertain to ICT
∎ Actively participate in (co-lead where agreed) community engagement coordination structures in-country to ensure ETS has an active role in joint humanitarian CwC projects and advocacy
∎ Advise ETS coordinator on appropriate response projects and collaboratively assess technical and financial feasibility, and risks.
∎ Contribute to/provide community-focused content necessary for strategic planning documents (planning and budgeting for initial response plan; appeals).
∎ Undertake strategic advocacy and donor outreach for funding for community projects (in collaboration with Rome team).
∎ Project manage and report on ETS S4C projects, ensuring proper monitoring, donor reporting, and documentation of lessons learned.
∎ Attend and contribute to the local ETS Working Group meetings and the global ETC teleconferences representing common interests of communities, and opportunities to address needs and gaps, to the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster. Encourage media, NGO, local innovation actors to attend and participate in local ETC meetings.
∎ In collaboration with the ETC communications team, produce sector communications and advocacy materials on community ICT needs and the impact of ETS response.
∎ Ensure all services for communities projects have a monitoring and evaluation component.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Aat least 6 years, progressively responsible professional experience with humanitarian agencies (NGOs and/or the UN in support of humanitarian services, directly implementing projects).
∎ Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Bangla. Desirable working knowledge of a second official UN language.
∎ Able to do external communication pieces through news pieces/ videos to showcase S4C work
∎ Ability to identify, research, analyze and synthesis complex development issues.
∎ Ability to communicate effectively orally and demonstrated ability to write concise and analytical reports under time constraints.
∎ Ability to organize, assess and co-ordinate the work of others.
∎ Ability to work under pressure and on multiple tasks.
∎ Understand key concepts of access to information, CWC, AAP, and Protection.
∎ Knowledgeable of the IASC cluster system.
∎ Ability to coordinate varied actors in complex environments
∎ Ability to organize and conduct focus group discussions, interviews with beneficiaries etc.
∎ Ability to organize project, events involving crowd control in community-facing services
∎ Ability to plan and organize own work Programme.
∎ Tact and ability to work harmoniously with people of different national and cultural backgrounds;
∎ Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
∎ Having a customer-oriented attitude towards provision of services.
