Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 5-7years of relevant work experience in the field of dairy/dairy-commodity marketing.
∎ In-depth understanding of agri-business, with a particular focus on dairy and the application of digital technologies;
∎ Experience working with the dairy industry or agricultural sustainability programs is highly desirable
∎ Fluency in both Bengali and English with excellent report writing skills;
∎ Experience in dairy market system, private sector engagement and supply chain development
∎ Good Communication skills
∎ Experience in implementing programmes through partnerships with local development organizations, private sector, and relevant government departments.
∎ Proven ability to work in an intercultural environment and writing skills in English and Bangla; excellent communication skills and fluency in spoken English are required;
∎ Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity;
∎ Work independently with minimal supervision within deadlines;
∎ Work as part of a team and must ensure effective team alignment and coordination between operational and support functions to ensure overall performance;
∎ Willingness to work beyond general business hours under extreme pressure

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Mobilize the farmers and develop the collection center-centric farmers' cluster in coordination with Pran Dairy and relevant stakeholders
∎ Design and implement programs as per activity plan to promote sustainable practices in the dairy communities, including Arla’s Big 5 (Feed Efficiency, Feed Balance, Animal Robustness, Manure Handling and Land-use) farm practices adapted to BD dairy conditions.
∎ Collaborate with dairy farmers, industry stakeholders, and environmental experts to identify and promote best practices.
∎ Strengthening dairy farming clusters for interactive farmers-to-farmers learning for adoption of good farming practices, access to resources efficient ecosystem services, and market uptake of the business model by the smallholders to improve quality of milk, reduce post-harvest losses, enhance overall market competitiveness.
∎ Develop 100 innovation dairy farms and promote smart dairy farming practices through efficient use of resources, circularity, and climate-smart technologies to improve increase in milk yield and quality.
∎ Develop capacity of the smallholder’s dairy farmers on good dairy practices (improved housing, feeding management, fodder production, hygienic milking, calf management, pregnant and lactating cow management, vaccination, deworming and disease management) to reduce production cost, improve efficiency, and increase yield and income in collaboration with the private sector partners.
∎ Lead capacity building of field staffs, lead farmers, project participants, CLSP, community mobilizers, entrepreneurs on efficient farm management, enterprise farming, business plan, business operation etc
∎ Collaborate with consortium partners to promote awareness of sustainable dairy farming practices and the benefits of green dairy projects through community outreach, workshops, and public campaigns.
∎ Assist line manager the process of project budget utilization and ensure efficient use of financial resources allocated for the projects within the committed timeframe
∎ Support efforts to sensitize the community, local people, line departments, and relevant stakeholders in developing a dairy forum
∎ Carry out process documentation, and collect and compile required information from farmers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders.
∎ Assist in developing multiple entrepreneurs such as CLSPs, community mobilizers, fodder entrepreneurs, hydroponic entrepreneurs, and biogas plant operators.
∎ Promote green manure management and organic fertiliser production for reduction of direct and indirect GHG emissions from livestock .
∎ Assist to develop curriculum of the training/ modules/materials/technical sessions/other tool kits and closely work with others partners for collecting and preserving information, data for any kind of report, monitoring or communication
∎ Support efforts to sensitize the community, local people, line departments, and relevant stakeholders in developing a dairy forum.
∎ Promote digital dairy advisory services and conduct orientation session with community.
∎ Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, ensuring objectives are met and reporting on progress to senior management and stakeholders.
∎ Develop and maintain functional relationships with relevant public-private stakeholders for promoting inclusive and sustainable dairy business in Bangladesh.
∎ Engage in dialogue with dairy business farmers, collection center owners, private sector partners, and government extension services to improve supportive business ecosystem services for access to knowledge and information, technologies, and facilities for enhanced productivity and quality of milk produced.
∎ Communicate with relevant national and international dairy sector stakeholders for knowledge exchange.
∎ Support in validating and establishing the Green Dairy Business Partnership Model in Bangladesh.
∎ Coordinate the monitoring and evaluation functions of projects with the M&E team to track and report project outcomes.
∎ Perform cross-functional activities relevant to project management and operation.

∎ Overall Job Description;
∎ The Program Officer - Dairy will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing programs aimed at promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly practices within the dairy communities. This role requires a strong understanding of both the dairy sector and sustainability principles, with a focus on reducing the environmental impact of dairy farming, collection and production processes. The position will be based in Khulna and will require close coordination with other team members of Solidaridad Network Asia in Bangladesh.
∎ The Program Officer - Dairy will report to the Programme Manager- Green Dairy Business of Solidaridad Network Asia and the position will be based in Khulna/Jashore/Satkhira.
