Job Context:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Oxfam in Bangladesh works in collaboration with others to influence key actors by investing and mobilizing knowledge and resources towards just, safe, and sustainable impact for the poverty-stricken and the most vulnerable. We are guided by the values of equality, empowerment, solidarity, inclusiveness, accountability, courage - rooted in feminist principles. We have a Country Operating Model for 2020-2025, which defines ways of work in line with these values and a country strategy that defines our work with four thematic goals including: (1) Gender justice and Social Inclusion; (2) Economic Inclusion and Justice; (3) Climate Justice and Natural Resource Rights; (4) Humanitarian Action and Disaster Resilience.
∎ The team works from two main operations base - in Cox's Bazar & Dhaka, where all four programme portfolio are active.
∎ The Programme Director will focus on the four outcome areas of the Oxfam Country Strategy:
∎ Gender justice and Social Inclusion: ensuring that women, marginalised people with different social identities have equal rights, fundamental freedom, access to dignified work, democratic participation and live in an environment of respect, justice and diversity.
∎ Economic Inclusion and Justice: ensuring that poor, marginalized and vulnerable occupational groups, women, youth and entrepreneurs have access to dignified work and increased their power in market and gained equitable share of economic development.
∎ Climate Justice and Natural Resource Rights: ensuring inclusive sustainable development pathways considering natural resource rights of dependent communities and climate justice
∎ Humanitarian Action and Disaster Resilience: ensuring vulnerable women and men affected by disasters, conflicts and crisis have access to humanitarian assistance and have capacity to reduce their suffering and loss of lives through building resilience.
∎ The overall responsibility of the role includes programme management, fund raising and influencing work as well as roles as a member of the Country Leadership Team of Oxfam in Bangladesh.

Additional Requirements:
∎ We are looking for someone who is aware of the development discourse of Bangladesh and has a track record of working for the rights of the most marginalized communities for an equitable and just society and a genuine interest for an impactful career through a networked influencing organization that works through leadership of partners and communities.

∎ Ability to demonstrate an openness and willingness to learn about the application of gender/gender mainstreaming, women's rights, and diversity for all aspects of development work.

Salary:
∎ As per Oxfam national B2 pay band with other benefits e.g. medical for spouse and children, contributory provident fund, gratuity, leave & insurance.
