Job Context:
∎ Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement the Child Protection (CP) Project with Rohingya and Host communities under its Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Program, Cox’s Bazar with the support of Save the Children International (SCI) and UNHCR which is assumed to be commenced from October, 2020.
∎ The duration of the project is initially 3 Months (to be extended subject to the provision of project extension for the next year). The position will be recruited for implementing the project based at the Field Office at Gilatoli (Teknaf) with substantial field visit at Rohingya Camps and Host community at Teknaf and Ukhia. The job may be regularized after completion of 6 months of services under FIVDB’s pay-scale, rules and regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Program Officer is responsible for managing child protection team and all associated activities in a specific area or zone (comprising one more Camps or Unions), acting as the key field level representative of the organization in the location. This includes supervising the team in the assessment, coordination, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of the child protection interventions, and ensuring coordination between case management services, child friendly space activities, and community based child protection to deliver one integrated child protection system, in coordination with other agencies. S/he is also responsible for providing management and technical support, documentation of all events, program learning, and ensuring logistics requests are raised in a timely manner. S/he is reportable to Project Coordinator; will be supervising the Project Officers working in her/his team.
∎ Key Area 1: Management of child protection activities
∎ Supervise and manage to the team to ensure CFSs, case management and community based child protection activities are implemented effectively, in line with organizational quality standards and internal approach.
∎ Facilitate regular team meetings and ensure effective coordination between teams and with other sectors.
∎ Undertake regular visits to all project activities to supervise sessions and provide feedback and support.
∎ Develop performance objectives with all staff and provide regular feedback, one-to-ones and performance reviews and support Supervisors to implement performance management initiatives with their staff.
∎ Oversee the quality of case management services and ensure effective identification, assessment, case planning and follow up.
∎ Oversee the running of CFS activities and ensure that the schedules and approach are in line with the inter-agency minimum standards.
∎ Ensure effective community engagement, outreach, and the establishment and running of community based child protection mechanisms.
∎ Ensure all activities comply with all relevant organizational policies and procedures including child safeguarding, confidentiality and do no harm principles.
∎ Identify learning and training opportunities for organizational staff, support trainings and support and build the capacity of less experienced staff.
∎ Key Area 2: External Coordination and Representation
∎ Represent organization in the relevant coordination meetings at his/her project area.
∎ Build and manage relationships with external actors to ensure effective and coordinated programing.
∎ Act as the focal point for all external visits to child protection activities, ensuring that all media visits are in line with child protection and safeguarding principles and policies.
∎ Coordinate with community leaders; local authorities relevant to child protection; the lead Camp Management agency and; other agencies related to child protection.
∎ Identify gaps in coverage and advocate internally and externally for the necessary scope, scale and/or quality of services.
∎ Key Area 3: Administration, Finance and Logistics
∎ Management of volunteer payments, expenses and other financial requirements in the project location, ensuring all transactions are in line with organizational finance and compliance requirements.
∎ Responsible for submitting all logistical requirements for the area to the Project Coordinator on a regular basis.
∎ Responsible for maintaining administrative files and all program documentation, in compliance with donor requirements and internal standards.
∎ Key Area 4: MEAL and Reporting
∎ Ensure all MEAL data collection is up-to-date and that Case Trackers, CFS databases and other data collection tools are utilised effectively.
∎ Ensure the implementation of quality assurance tools such as CFS quality checklist and case file audit tool.
∎ Support in preparing quality and timely reports for donors and management, as per the internal and external requirements.
∎ Ensure effective monitoring, learning and accountability mechanisms in the location, and responsible for implementing feedback and recommendations.
∎ Be able and willing to respond to natural disasters or emergency situations in Bangladesh, when needed and any other task assigned by Supervisor.

∎ Abilities to undertake extensive travel to village level
∎ Ability to work under pressure.
∎ Advance user of MS-word, Excel, Power point and internet browsing
Salary:
∎ Tk. 63630 (Monthly)
∎ TK. Up to 63,630 (Monthly) (fixed; taxes payable to be deducted)
