• Creating / visualizing an idea and producing a design using Illustrator and Photoshop.

• Working with others in the design team, such as buyers and forecasters, to develop products that meet a brief.

• Keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends, as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colors, and shapes.

• Developing a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments, and supervising the making up of these, including fitting, detailing, and adaptations.

• Understanding of garment make-up skills.

• Working with the in-house pattern maker and sample room for new developments as well as duplicate salesman samples.

• Handling all types of knit and sweater items.

• Reducing cost-associated issues in developments.

• Direct involvement in costing and sampling, through to buyer approvals.
