Job Context:
∎ The Private Sector Engagement Specialist will play a critical role in the USAID`s Bangladesh Integrated Youth Activity (BIYA) Project implemented by UCEP Bangladesh. The specialist will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with private sector partners to support the project`s goals of improving youth access to equitable economic opportunities and strengthening youth-led and youth-serving organizations. The specialist will develop and implement strategies to engage the private sector, identify funding opportunities, and collaborate with internal teams to foster effective partnerships. The specialist will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating partnerships and representing the organization to external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Private Sector Engagement Strategy:
∎ Develop and implement a comprehensive private sector engagement strategy aligned with the objectives of the BIYA project.
∎ Identify key private sector partners, including businesses, investors, and philanthropic organizations, for collaboration and support.
∎ Conduct research and analysis to identify potential funding opportunities and partnership prospects.
∎ Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and relevant policies to inform engagement strategies.
∎ Partnership Development and Management:
∎ Build and maintain relationships with private sector partners, nurturing long-term collaborations and trust.
∎ Identify and negotiate partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with project objectives and compliance with USAID regulations.
∎ Facilitate knowledge exchange and resource-sharing between the private sector partners and the project's youth-led and youth-serving organizations.
∎ Coordinate with internal teams to ensure effective communication and coordination in implementing partnership activities.
∎ Funding Opportunities:
∎ Identify and secure funding opportunities from the private sector, including grants, sponsorships, and in-kind contributions.
∎ Prepare high-quality proposals and presentations to pitch the project to potential private sector partners.
∎ Collaborate with finance and program teams to develop budgets and financial plans for private sector-funded initiatives.
∎ Monitor and track the utilization of funds received from private sector partners, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
∎ Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
∎ Develop metrics and indicators to assess the effectiveness and impact of private sector partnerships.
∎ Monitor partnership activities and progress towards agreed-upon goals and targets.
∎ Collect and analyze data to measure the success of private sector engagement strategies and identify areas for improvement.
∎ Prepare regular reports on partnership activities, outcomes, and lessons learned for internal and external stakeholders.
∎ Communicate project result to program staff, donor representatives, partners, and other relevant stakeholders to enable data and experience-informed decision-making.
∎ Representation and Networking:
∎ Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and events with private sector stakeholders and other relevant forums.
∎ Build a network of contacts within the private sector, academia, and civil society organizations to leverage additional resources and opportunities.
∎ Contribute to knowledge-sharing and learning platforms related to private sector engagement in youth development.
∎ Support the UCEP program to carry out the project output with collaboration with other components.
∎ Other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ At least five (05) years proven experience in private sector engagement, partnership development, or corporate social responsibility initiatives.
∎ USAID-funded project experience will be preferred.
∎ Familiarity with the social and economic development context in Bangladesh and an understanding of youth empowerment and employment challenges.
∎ Strong networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills (business associations, industry skill councils).
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in preparing high-quality reports and proposals.
∎ Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team and manage multiple priorities.
∎ Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively to identify new partnership opportunities.
∎ Support to develop module for entrepreneurship development training (EDT), soft skills etc. ToT on EDT from any recognized certification authority will be given preference.
∎ Familiarity with USAID regulations and reporting requirements is desirable.
∎ Strong proficiency in MS-Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
∎ Proficiency in English and Bangla languages.
∎ Age limit for the applicant would be 45 years. Management has the right to make exceptions based on qualifications.
