Key responsibilities of a PMV Inspector include:
1. Inspection and Compliance
Safety Inspections: Conducting regular visual and physical checks on heavy vehicles (cranes, excavators) and light equipment to ensure they are safe for operation.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all machinery adheres to safety, emissions, and environmental standards.
Third-Party Coordination: Assisting third-party inspectors to obtain necessary certifications and work permits.
Documentation: Reviewing maintenance records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.
2. Maintenance Management
Preventive Maintenance: Scheduling and monitoring routine maintenance (servicing) to avoid breakdowns and extend equipment life.
Breakdown Management: Attending to equipment breakdowns in the field and coordinating repairs.
Quality Control: Ensuring repairs and servicing are performed according to manufacturer standards.
3. Safety & Documentation
Recording Defects: Identifying and documenting faulty parts such as hydraulic hoses, engine issues, and electrical issues.
Reporting: Preparing reports on the condition of machinery and recommending necessary repairs.
Hazard Control: Identifying risks associated with equipment and implementing measures to eliminate or reduce them.
4. Site Resource Optimization
Allocation: Managing the allocation of equipment to different sites.
Asset Monitoring: Tracking the usage of machinery to optimize resource allocation and reduce downtime.
Common PMV Inspection Target Areas
