Core Responsibilities

• Supervision and Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule heavy-duty mechanics, apprentices, and helpers, including overseeing their work on major and minor repairs.

• Maintenance Planning: Plan, schedule, and prioritize preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on heavy equipment (cranes, dozers, loaders, trucks, engines).

• Technical Diagnosis & Support: Assist mechanics with complex diagnostics on hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems using computer-based diagnostic tools, especially when unusual malfunctions occur.

• Safety & Compliance: Enforce all site safety rules (PPE), ensure compliance with OSHA and provincial standards, and perform inspections to maintain equipment safety.

• Inventory & Cost Management: Monitor parts inventory, requisition necessary supplies, and manage repair budgets to minimize costs.

• Quality Control: Inspect completed repair work to ensure manufacturer specifications are met before releasing equipment back into service.

• Administrative Duties: Prepare maintenance reports, maintain repair logs on work orders, and review time sheets
