JOB PURPOSE

To lay out, cut, bend, assemble, and install pipe, fittings, and fixtures according to drawings, instructions, specification, and job request in order to construct and maintain piping systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Day-to-Day Operations

 Install, maintain and repair piping systems according to work orders, drawings and instruction by supervisor to meet piping section’s assignment.

 Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to piping systems to prevent further damage.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

 Follow all relevant section’s or department’s policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Continuous Improvement

 Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Reporting

 Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements or reports to meet section or department’s requirements, policies and quality standards.

Health & Safety

 Maintain an awareness of all health and safety rules applying to the assigned tasks and tools to ensure that safe working practices are observed.

Use of Tools & Equipment

 Maintain competence in the use of all tools or equipment required for the assigned works.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal:

• Interaction with Welders and Fabricators and take directive from P/W Foreman / Supervisor

External:

• Not applicable

FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

• Work under the supervision of Piping Foreman

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school degree or Relevant Vocational / Technical School in Pipe Fitting.

Minimum Experience:

• 1-2 years of experience in Piping in Oil/Gas industry.

Job-Specific Skills:

• Working knowledge of the methods of installation and repair of piping systems.

• Working knowledge of the methods of overhaul and repair of valves.

• Working knowledge of safety precautions in the pipefitting trade.

• Ability to use tools and equipment necessary to affect repairs.

• Ability to read piping and mechanical drawings.

• Shall be able to tack weld pipes and qualified for arc welding of small diameter steel piping.

• Working knowledge of the characteristics of pipes constructed of a variety of materials.

• Undertake pressure testing of Piping systems.
