Job Context:

∎ Role Purpose:
∎ Work as a part of the Human Resources (HR) team to provide support in HR operations, specifically for payroll management, HR Information System management, data and record management and reporting. Ensure integrity and accuracy of HR data while being compliant with British Council data protection standards.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible of on-time accurate payroll processing and maintenance of all necessary records and ensuring accurate payroll processing documentation and standard operating procedures is maintained at all times.
∎ Complete the required checks for all types of claims (medical / OT, etc.) received from staff before including in payroll calculation.
∎ Ensure and validate data entry in the payroll software and compliance with internal policies. Upload employee salary information to SCB S2B (Straight2Bank) internet banking platform and complete batch disbursement through S2B checker and approver.
∎ Prepare all the payroll related journals in liaison with SSC (Shared Service Centre) hub for on-time payroll processing.
∎ Calculate taxations and provide required information. Prepare employee tax documentations on a quarterly and yearly basis.
∎ Ensure monthly panel hospital invoices are settled by raising PO on-time and track all the medical expenses for individual staff against annual limit.
∎ Ensure the final settlement of exit employees on time and proper documentation.
∎ Maintain PF and Terminal Gratuity calculation, investment, documentation and reporting in PF software.
∎ Prepare regular payroll related monthly and quarterly staff cost report for internal use.
∎ Support general HR operational activities in terms of HR query resolution, supporting in logistics arrangements for new employee induction, staff training, providing necessary HR forms, demonstrating a good knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
∎ Update and maintain individual HR personal files, including certificates and salary updates.
∎ Be compliant by ensuring all necessary HR policies, records and documents are filled properly in both printed and soft copies.
∎ Work with line managers to ensure staff resignation/exit process is managed properly.
∎ Prepare & issue monthly payslips and other different staff letters, e.g., salary certificate, experience certificates and acceptance of resignation letters to staff according to approval

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 2 years' experience in payroll delivery
∎ Sound knowledge and expertise in Payroll, Tax and benefits
∎ Proficiency in MS Excel, reporting and project administration
∎ Experience in using SAP / HRIS
∎ Knowledge of Bangladesh labour law and Income Tax Ordinance
∎ English Language at Proficiency Level equivalent to IELTS band score 6.5
