Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist surgeon during any surgery.
∎ Preparer patient for procedure/surgery.
∎ Monitor and ensure functionality of Operation Theater’s equipment and ensure proper sterilization.
∎ Support Eye unit, Dental unit and other unit whenever required for managing patient.
∎ Carry out Behavioral Change Communication (BCC) for patients during health Education Session.
∎ Managing the OT stock, logistics and updating the register accordingly.
∎ Maintain daily departmental quality checklist.
∎ Prepare surgical patient list.
∎ Prepare Operation Theatre for the surgery beforehand.
∎ Assist surgeon or Medical Officer during surgery.
∎ To do regular dressing of post -operative patient and other patient who undergone procedure/surgery.
∎ Regularly check & run OT equipment to continue uninterrupted service.
∎ Perform sterilization procedures (autoclave, ETO) for surgical instruments as daily basis and maintain logbook of sterilization.
∎ Ensure support to eye and dental unit as per the need for patient management.
∎ Prepare OT supplies and medicine requisition for secondary medical camps, regular surgery and procedure.
∎ Actively help in post operative management of patient.
∎ Counsel patient and patient attendant for surgical & procedure.
∎ Help to maintain the cleanliness of the tent both inside and outside during secondary health camp.
∎ Ensure filling up daily quality checklist and equipment checklist.
∎ Report immediately for any non-functional/mal-functional issue of the equipment.
∎ Prepare monthly report of OT activities and stock balance of OT medicine, expiry date of medicine and near expiry medicine list.
∎ Attend Infection Prevention training under supervision of Program Manager/Medical Officer.
∎ Adhere the safeguarding policy and organizational policy.
∎ Any work assigned as per advice of higher authority.
∎ Diploma in Medical Faculty (DMF) from recognized MATS.
∎ Should have completed 01 year certificate course of OA or MLOP or DOLV from recognized institution.
∎ 1 year working experience in Operation Theater.
∎ Excellent communication skills and desire to learn.
∎ High commitment & motivation to work in remote places, specially in riverine and hard to reach areas.
∎ Strong interpersonal skills.
∎ Good teamwork exposure.
∎ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) are other pre-requisites.
