Experience:
Age at most 35 years;
Minimum 06 months of experience in supporting data collection of qualitative and/or mixed-method research and evaluation;
In-depth knowledge on the situation of women and girls/ gender/ GBV/ IPV/ harmful practices in Bangladesh/ South-East Asia;
In-depth knowledge on qualitative research methodologies and research ethics, including informed consent, data confidentiality, do no harm principle and others;
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communications skills in Bangla and English;
Job Responsibilities:
Participate in training on the research protocol, data collection guides, facilitation techniques, ethical and safeguarding considerations, and age- and gender-sensitive communication approaches;
Support the translation of data collection tools, consent forms, and field materials into Bangla and local dialects where required;
Conduct and support qualitative data collection, including focus group discussions (FGDs), in-depth interviews (IDIs), key informant interviews (KIIs), and service ecosystem/facility assessments, following the approved study protocol and guidance provided by the Lead Field Researcher;
Ensure respectful, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive engagement with all respondents, taking into account gender, age, disability, religion, power dynamics, and other vulnerabilities;
Apply ethical principles and safeguarding procedures throughout data collection, including informed consent and assent procedures, confidentiality, privacy, and the Do No Harm principle, following the approved study protocol;
Identify and mitigate risks associated with discussing sensitive topics in individual and group settings, in line with the study guidance and referral protocols;
Support effective facilitation of FGDs and interviews through accurate note-taking, adequate probing, participatory activities, and clear documentation of non-verbal cues and group dynamics where relevant;
Maintain daily field notes documenting observations, challenges, referrals made, and lessons learned from field implementation;
Ensure accurate and verbatim transcription of all interviews, discussions and assessments into English in agreed formats and within specified timelines, including details and methods of the data collection activities as well as participant demographic profiles;
Ensure proper labeling, organization, secure storage, and timely submission of all field materials, including audio recordings, notes, transcripts, consent forms, and assessment checklists;
Report any ethical concerns, safeguarding risks, data quality issues, or operational challenges to the Lead Field Researcher;
Participate in regular debriefings, quality checks, reflection sessions, and feedback meetings throughout the data collection process.
