Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Officer - Security Operation will work collaboratively with the Manager- Safety and Security. S/ he will have the responsibility for ensuring the safety and security of the Staff, Program, and Organization of Cox's Bazar Area Office. Under the guidance of the Safety & Security Manager, S/he will oversee the security protocol in the area of travel, in the field, facilities, and offices. S/he will collect, verify and share security information and assist SSM in context analysis.
∎ The incumbent will also monitor all day-to-day field movement and ensure staff is reaching/returning to their designated work location/base safely. S/he will ensure all staff are accounted for in emergency evacuation. S/he will visit and inspect the field offices, and program sites, as required to support for safe programming, and will support security incident management and reporting. The post holder will profoundly use social media and establish professional networks with LEAs on the ground level and other government stakeholders. During an emergency/ crisis, the post holder will respond immediately to support the team, ensuring their safety and assisting in navigating the situation. S/he will be supporting Safety & Security Manager in facilitating SAT and other security-related training. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in security, military or police or related field of work and 1-year experience in development sector preferably with I/NGO
∎ Working experience with Rohingya Crisis response will be given preference
∎ Valid driver's license (Motorcycle)
∎ Fluent in English and Bangla (reading, writing & speaking) and solid computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and social media applications (Facebook, WhatsApp, Web, etc.)
∎ Confident in coordinating with law enforcement and government agencies
∎ Physically fit for extensive field travel
