∎ Project Summary:
∎ Over 1 million of Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Citizen (with the majority comprising women and children), took shelter in camps in Cox`s Bazar in southern Bangladesh on August 2017. The Government of Bangladesh, together with national and international partners, have pro-actively responding to this crisis with a massive humanitarian response, allocating 2,000 acres of land and coordinating and providing critical assistance such as food, nutrition, shelter, water, health & hygiene, and psycho-social and basic education services to the camps, settlements and host communities. ActionAid is implementing site management activities in Camp 11 and 12 funded by IOM. Besides, ActionAid have few ongoing programmes in different sectors e.g. Protection, WASH, NFI etc. inside the camps. As a response agency since September 2017, ActionAid has developed relationships with a range of camp actors, including the Rohingya and their representatives and successfully doing the site management role. ActionAid is working with IOM to address critical humanitarian gaps and need through site management by coordination & collaboration with different stakeholders. Information management, linking community with different service providers, camp operations, and DRR and site improvement are the major activities of site management project.
∎ Relationships:
∎ S/he will report to Team Leader - Information Management of Site Management in Mainnerghonna Project of ActionAid Bangladesh. S/he is expected to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers in team, priority, project management team. S/he must be able to communicate with other teams and units, both programme and function of AAB.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
∎
∎ Work closely with the Team Leader- Community Engagement and assist him in accomplishing budgetary activities;
∎ Monitor the formation of different community group and committees as per guideline;
∎ Supervise and monitor each stage of community engagement activities, and ensure that standards are properly met and instructions followed;
∎ Monitor and assess Community Committee Meeting, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and participatory methods to identify gaps in the delivery of services to the Rohingya community;
∎ Organize training for community groups on different issues;
∎ Supervise Community Engagement Associate Officers and volunteers, and guide them, where needed;
∎ Ensure coordination among different community groups, Majhis, service providers and the camp-in-charge;
∎ Foster amicable relations between the Rohingya people and the host community living in the area of jurisdiction;
∎ Assist the Community Engagement Team Leader in preparing weekly and quarterly donor reports;
∎ Put forth agenda at camp and sectoral coordination meetings;
∎ Monitor the quality and quantity of materials delivered to the sites;
∎ Ensure that all relevant qualitative and quantitative data are compiled accurately and properly;
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Proven experience in any field operations for at least three year.
∎ Candidates with experience in humanitarian response will be given preference.
∎ Experience in conducting Community Meetings, Focus Group Discussions, and Key Informant Interviews.
∎ Applicants must have the ability to fluently write and speak English.
∎ Any other requirements relevant to the position:
∎ Good interpersonal skills with the ability to gain trust and build relationships
∎ The successful candidate must be assiduous, self-motivated and results-oriented and have a demonstrated ability to work individually and with a team.
∎ Ability to speak the Chittagonian dialect will be a plus point
∎ Ability to write quality reports in English
Salary:
∎ Monthly Gross Salary will be BDT. 62,500 other admissible benefits Such as Mobile Allowance, Medical Allowance and Group Insurance.
