Job Context:
∎ Job Location: BRAC Field Office
∎ Purpose:This Position will support and overall implementation of BRAC`s emergency livelihoods recovery activities in flood affected areas in northern districts of Bangladesh. This includes exploring, identifying and implementing cash for livelihoods activities with local stakeholders at field level. Moreover, this position to ensure supervision of the beneficiary selection, distribution of cash grants and monitoring implementation of livelihood plans in the assigned locations and ensuring activities complying with technical standards. This position is required for frequent travel to the interventions areas.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Implement cash for livelihood field assessments (identification and selection of beneficiary, logistic arrangement of cash distribution, prepare and monitoring livelihood plans)
∎ Conduct local market assessment as per livelihood needs and plans of targeted beneficiaries
∎ Lead and guide field team to exercise/ conduct participatory approaches using appropriate participatory tools for beneficiaries' targeting and group meeting on selection process, livelihood plans preparation, follow-up support including monitoring process
∎ Implement the distribution of cash grants to the beneficiaries, and with the Field Coordinator design and manage the monitoring of cash distribution
∎ Set up a clear beneficiary follow-up mechanisms to support beneficiary to develop and implement their livelihood plans
∎ Daily update and management of data-gathering and tracking tools used to monitor the CFL beneficiaries
∎ Facilitate capacity building of the field team members on cash for livelihood implementation methodology including establish smooth complaint response mechanism
∎ Facilitate and provide support with existing livelihood support providers
∎ Support in resolving any emerging problems and issues on field
∎ Coordinate activities with relevant stakeholders at field level
∎ Organise frequent field visit in the targeted interventions areas along with senior project management team and Upazila government officials;
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 4 years' experience in implementing and monitoring Cash for Livelihoods project in emergency recovery set-up is required
∎ Additional Requirements:
∎ Sound knowledge of global, regional and national disaster management framework of Bangladesh and all other humanitarian framework and standards
∎ Strong experience in community engagement including participatory and facilitating participatory tools for identifying targeted is an advantage;
∎ Experience of implementing diverse livelihood plans of targeted beneficiaries;
∎ Capable for planning and prioritizing under any stress situation
∎ Excellent skills in team building, problem solving and decision making
∎ Demonstrated coordination skill and able to implement programme in a challenging work environment
∎ Excellent communication, coordination and networking skill
∎ Familiar with MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
