Job Context:
∎ CSF Global is an international NGO engaged in advancing research and services for persons with disabilities. CSF Global Cerebral Palsy (CP) Program is a collaborative program between the CSF Global (http://csf-global.org), the Asian Institute of Disability and Development (https://www.disabilityasia.org), Bangladesh, the Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA), the University of Sydney and Central Queensland University, Australia. This program supports world-class research and service delivery projects in Bangladesh. The overall aim of this program is to conduct translational research to generate novel knowledge on CP and to develop a comprehensive service delivery model for children with CP in rural Bangladesh and other low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

∎ Reporting operationally to the Program Manager, and professionally to the Senior Program Manager/Nutritionist (Dr Israt Jahan, PhD), the Nutritionist (Clinical Research) will contribute to the Global LMIC CP Nutrition Program, which is a multi-country collaborative research funded by the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation to describe the epidemiology, prevention and control of malnutrition among children with CP in Bangladesh and other LMICs. The Nutritionist (Clinical Research) will have opportunities to contribute to all aspects of current and future research projects of CSF Global through data collection, analysis, scientific publications and will have tremendous opportunities for academic and career development
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Nutritionist (Clinical Research) is a key member of the team and will have the following key responsibilities: Conduct nutritional assessment of children with CP registered into the Bangladesh Cerebral Palsy Register (BCPR).
∎ Collect dietary and clinical history of children with CP recruited in the study.
∎ Routine growth monitoring of children with CP recruited in the study.
∎ Assist Senior Program Manager to develop targeted nutritional management protocol for study participants (i.e., children with CP).
∎ Provide counselling to the mothers/primary caregivers of children with CP registered into the BCPR on nutrition related issues, healthy eating habits, and management of comorbidities and feeding complications.
∎ Schedule, coordinate and conduct education sessions with mothers/primary caregivers on improved feeding practices for children with CP included in the research project with support from the team.
∎ Monitor and evaluate compliance of the mothers/caregivers with recommended practices.
∎ Prepare evidence-based communication materials as part of the research activities.
∎ Contribute to ongoing research projects of CSF Global by actively participating in medical assessment camps, collecting and analyzing data, and writing reports and/or manuscripts.
∎ Write manuscripts and small grants on CP nutrition in Bangladesh and other LMICs with supervision from the Senior Program Manager and Executive Director of CSF Global.
∎ Contribute to wider organizational goals within local, regional and international stakeholders.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 27 years
∎ 1-2 year(s), however, candidates with outstanding academic merit with limited experience would be considered. An ideal candidate should have career aspirations in public health nutrition research and publications in LMICs.
Salary: Tk. 30000 (Monthly)
