Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing

Job Context:
∎ The nurses will be primary responsible for assisting the medical doctor in recruiting and overseeing patients into the Spot Sepsis study. They will be a core part of the study implementation and support the medical doctor in ensuring the study is conducted to the highest possible standards
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Knowing, promoting, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control, security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment. Respecting medical confidentiality at all times.
∎ Organizing and assisting the MD during recruitment of research cohort while ensuring up to date documentation of patient files.
∎ Follow up on the recruited patients, based on the study protocols according to the stipulated timeline. Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents (fill in patient’s files, forms, consumptions, statistics, registers, health files, etc. Participating in data collection and keeping doctors/supervisors informed.
∎ Supporting lab technician in sample collection and storage, following MSF IPC protocols and lab quality guidelines.
∎ Participating in the related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (quality and its functioning, storage conditions and stock count of medicines and material.
∎ Ensuring that SOPs for blood culture collection are always strictly followed.
∎ Supporting the lab tech in ensuring correct storage and transfer of study samples.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Essential recognized nurse degree/diploma. Desirable bachelor’s in science of Nursing
∎ Desirable 2 years of previous experience and previous experience in other NGO’s.
∎ Desirable, previous experience in research.
∎ Having a good command in English is highly desirable, written and spoken.
∎ Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet).
∎ MSF OCBA is looking for a sensible and mature person who is meticulous in following protocols, able to work independently, a quick learner and most importantly, enthusiastic to participate in a research study.
Salary:
∎ Salary according to level 5 of the internal MSF salary grid = 47,477 BDT. Two (02) annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents.
