∎ Able to travel occasionally and spend time away from base and home.
∎ This position demands travel within the project area.
∎ Good level of computer skills (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Internet)
∎ Sufficient experience in working with volunteers to understand their motivation and how to keep volunteers engaged.
∎ Experience in gathering data for monitoring and evaluation.
∎ Experience in coordination of training activities.
∎ Proficient in written and spoken English.
∎ Commitment to volunteering and motivated by VSO’s vision and values.
∎ Open-minded and respectful.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Act as the contact person for The National Youth Engagement Network in Bangladesh.
∎ Provide support to The National Youth Engagement Network youth volunteers.
∎ Organize National Youth Engagement Network activities in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
∎ Organize required training for National Youth Engagement Network members to support their learning and development.
∎ Provide coordination support among consortium members implementing the National Youth Engagement Network and other youth-focused projects and initiatives.
∎ Coordinate efforts on strengthening volunteering networks and engaging them in different development endeavours.
∎ Support the project manager and partners with programme design and identifying appropriate stakeholders and partners for programme delivery as and when required.
∎ Update project stakeholders on project progress, including the reporting of medical and safety and security and safeguarding incidents.
∎ Gather data to feedback into a project report in accordance with the programme M&E framework.
∎ Represent VSO Bangladesh and specific initiatives in different appropriate forums.

∎ Duration: 12 Months
∎ Role purpose: The Youth Engagement Officer will be responsible for, supporting Youth development projects under Leadership and Engagement. The volunteer will support strengthening the youth forums community and follow-up annual youth voluntary activities through WhatsApp, in-person, and virtual communications. The volunteer will support strengthening the National Youth Engagement Network (NYEN), Youth campaigns and VSO global youth networks.
∎ Project Background and Contextual Information: VSO Bangladesh is implementing a Youth development programme under the VSO global leadership and Engagement area. VSO Bangladesh promotes value based volunteering all over the country through the formation of youth forums, in the upazila, district, division, and national levels. Along with this VSO Bangladesh acknowledges community volunteers by providing the best volunteer awards at the division and national level. The position will support to promotion of values-based volunteering, acknowledging volunteers, day observation, and global networking.
