Educational Requirements:
∎ Diploma in Midwifery
∎ Desired Bachelor in Midwifery

∎ At least 2 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ • Supervising, supporting and evaluating the team under his/her responsibility particularly midwives, midwife assistants and other related staff in her team such as cleaners. Planning and organizing their work (areas, days, absences, visits, holidays, etc) and coaching them in their work with special focus in following all appropriate protocols and procedures
∎ • Ensuring team work and a professional relationship between maternity and other departments.
∎ • Supervising the clinical activities in all the maternity departments and activities such as ante-natal consultations, delivery and after delivery follow up, post-natal consultations, family planning consultations, new-born vaccinations and liaising with the Medical Doctor about the patients who need special care times, visiting hours, etc.
∎ • Ensuring that the staff on duty knows, implements and follows at all times the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control in the medical premises ensuring high standards of hygiene in the working environment
∎ • Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained, cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols, reporting any malfunction to the project biomedical service.
∎ • Being responsible for the department-related pharmacy activities (stock and consumption monitoring) as well as maintenance of the medical equipment
∎ • Being responsible for ensuring that all the administrative procedures, patients’ data and documents are filled in correctly and registered for compiling monthly reports reflecting the activity in the department.
∎ • In certain contexts, being responsible for ensuring that the maternity staff is able to identify, receive and provide care to the victims of the SGBV in collaboration with the Obs Gyne MD and following the protocols
∎ • Organize and coordinate the activities of Midwife and Regsiters team (week's schedule, annual leave, trainings, etc.), evaluate their performance and define and ensure the needs for training of staff, in order to ensure the coverage of the human resources needs and maintain high standards of quality in patient care
∎ • Is responsible in active collaboration with the MAM, Med supervisor and other supervisors for a smooth running of the clinical activities in SRH and SGBV a components of the project
∎ • Implement the use of MSF protocols in the department. follow up adherence to MSF standard package for SRH beneficiaries
∎ • Focus on training and coaching midwives and nurses in the respective department through on-the job, theoretical aspects and case discussions. Areas of training (hands-on) for midwives on essential obstetrics
∎ • includes (not limited to) - ANC, PNC, Family planning, Safe abortion care, maternal nutrition, gynecological conditions, wound care management following MSF SRH guidelines.
∎ • Defining a training plan for midwives regarding point of care ultrasound (POCUS), and following up implementation, in collaboration with MAM and POCUS advisor
∎ • Participate and support in discussions with referral facilities regarding Quality of care, C-section criteria and other services for patients referred from MSF facilities.
∎ • Assess the adherence to IPC protocols in SRH activities and implements good IPC practices in the SRH/SGBV department, in collaboration with IPC nurse
∎ • Carry out and/or supervise the stock management and medical equipment management (drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs, drugs consumption, etc) in SRH/SGBV, in order to satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effectiveness.
∎ • Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained. Ensuring that cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols. Reporting any malfunction to the project biomedical service.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 18 years
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Essential Minimum 2-year experience as Midwife, work experience in SGBV and SRH activities (ANC, PNC, Family planning). Previous supervisory experience is added value
∎ Essential Oral and written English and Bengali Knowledge
∎ Essential have computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

Salary: Tk. 86338 - 103606 (Monthly)
