Responsibilities & Context:

Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Bangladesh (OGSB) is an exceptional professional body working for improving the reproductive health of women through its collaborative activities with GOB, development partners, NGOs & other national and international agencies. OGSB is working for more than a decade to ensure the rights and fulfill the needs of women, adolescents and contributed much to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity. OGSB is one of the major implementing partners of Ipas Bangladesh in a project funded by Global Affairs Canada through HealthBridge Foundation of Canada titled ‘Improving SRHR in Dhaka Project’. The project will work to increase availability and access of quality SRHR services particularly family planning, MR and Post abortion care (PAC) services for poor and ultra-poor women and adolescents living urban areas of greater Dhaka. The project will also work to reduce SGBV by creating awareness among city dwellers. The five-year project will be implemented till December 2025 in close coordination and collaboration with MOH&FW, DGFP, UPHCSDP, Local Government Bodies including Dhaka North and South City Corporations, BKMEA and other stakeholders.

Improving SRHR in Dhaka project has started a call center through Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Bangladesh at OGSB Hospital, Mirpur-13, Dhaka for SRHR services for poor and ultra-poor women and adolescents living in urban areas of greater Dhaka. Doctors of the Call center is mainly responsible for responding to calls related to reproductive health especially on Menstrual Regulation (MR), Post Abortion Care (PAC), Family Planning (FP), Gender Based Violence (GBV), Menstrual Health Management and adolescent health. Which includes counselling, advice, treatment and referral to the nearest health facilities and project’s General practitioners.  Doctors of the Call center is also responsible for managing the call center operations. Doctors for Call Center, Improving SRHR in Dhaka Project will be supervised by the Program Manager of Improving SRHR in Dhaka Project.

Job responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the call center operations.

  • Comfortable to talk to the callers and treat over phone related to reproductive health especially on Menstrual Regulation (MR), Post Abortion Care (PAC), Family Planning (FP), Gender Based Violence (GBV), Menstrual Health Management and adolescent health.

  • Answer calls in a timely, professional and friendly manner.

  • Comfortable to answer questions on MR, PAC and FP.

  • Respond to Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) related cases and refer. 

  • Provide non-judgement services including counselling, advice, treatment and referral.

  • Route calls to other team members whenever needed. 

  • Complete call logs and reports 

  • Manage & update databases 

  • Follow-up on clients’ calls 

  • Maintain confidentiality of clients’ information

  • Responsible for record keeping of the calls and advice given to the clients as per call register and report periodically

  • Call Center doctors will be responsible to deliver accurate information with excellent vocabulary skills

  • Work for call center promotion inside the OGSB hospital in collaboration with hospital authority.

  • Any other project related activities assigned by the management.
