Experience:
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering from BUET, CUET, KUET or RUET with IEB membership.
Master's degree in Structural Engineering will be strongly preferred.
Must be a RAJUK-enlisted Structural Engineer with a valid ECPS (Electronic Construction Permitting System) registration, capable of independently handling RAJUK structural approvals.
Professional Engineer (PEng) certification from BPERB will be considered a strong advantage.
Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in the real estate industry.
At least 3 years in a lead structural design role in a reputed real estate organization preferred.
Proven hands-on experience in structural design leadership, including supervision of deep excavation works, shore protection works of high-rise buildings (30+ story commercial and 20+ story residential projects with 4-5 basement levels).
Strong exposure to full project lifecycle of high-rise building construction.In-depth knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including BNBC, ACI, ASCE, ASTM and other relevant international codes.
Advanced proficiency in structural design and analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD and related tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate structural risks.
Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
We are seeking a highly competent Structural Design Engineer responsible for end-to-end structural design, analysis, review and execution support of building projects. The role requires strong expertise in structural engineering software, manual calculations, code compliance, construction-stage problem solving and coordination across multidisciplinary teams. The candidate must ensure structural safety, design optimization, construct-ability and compliance with international and national standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform in-house structural design and analysis of building structures in compliance BNBC 2020, ACI, ASCE, ASTM and other relevant international codes.
Develop and analyze advanced structural models using ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro and other recognized engineering software.
Prepare and verify detailed manual structural design calculations, including dead load, live load, wind load and seismic load, ensuring full compliance with relevant codes and engineering standards.
Independently review and validate consultant-issued structural designs to ensure compliance with design standards, safety requirements and project specifications.
Identify and implement opportunities for structural optimization and cost efficiency without compromising safety or performance.
Review geotechnical investigation reports and collaborate with consultants to determine and finalize appropriate foundation systems.
Provide engineering support to resolve structural design issues arising during construction.
Deliver technical clarifications and interpret design intent to site execution teams.
Monitor ongoing construction activities to ensure strict adherence to approved structural designs, drawings and specifications.
Perform real-time engineering decisions for unforeseen site conditions while maintaining code compliance and design intent.
Support value engineering decisions during construction without compromising structural integrity.Ensure systematic document control, including revision tracking, accuracy and compliance with project standards.
Prepare technical reports based on site inspections, engineering assessments and field observations.
Coordinate effectively with advisors, consultants, architects, MEP engineers and construction teams to ensure fully integrated design delivery.
Maintain continuous coordination between design, site engineering and project management functions.
Ensure structural input is integrated into master planning and architectural concept development.
Maintain full accountability for structural safety, stability and code compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Establish internal structural design standards and checklists for consistent compliance across projects.
Verify reinforcement detailing, bar bending schedules (BBS) and execution accuracy at site level.
Review and certify concrete and reinforcement test reports to ensure compliance with approved design specifications and quality standards.
Stay updated with emerging structural engineering codes, materials and best engineering practices.
Provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers to ensure high-quality design interpretation, reinforcement detailing accuracy and adherence to engineering standards.
Prepare technical approval documentation for consultant selection, including scope definition, evaluation criteria and professional recommendations for management approval.
Review and certify consultant invoices by verifying completed work against contractual scope prior to approval and payment processing.
Perform any additional engineering or managerial duties as assigned by senior leadership.
