Requirements:

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Lead Fabric Development:
∎ · Spearhead the creation & sourcing of new woven fabrics, focusing on advanced techniques and cutting-edge trends, from initial concept through to final production.
∎ · Identify and drive innovation on key fabrics by working closely with mills and wash plants on finishing technology.
∎ Trend Analysis & Design Direction:
∎ · Conduct thorough market research and trend forecasting to develop creative, market-relevant woven designs that align with global fashion trends and client demands.
∎ · Work closely with Design team on driving newness that is both customer and season specific. Attend and report on local fabric and innovation trade fairs to keep abreast of market intelligence & trends. Strong awareness of competitor brands, commercial end product and price points are critical.
∎ Quality standards:
∎ · Monitor all aspects of fabric development by liaising with fabric production teams to ensure each development meets our high standards for durability, comfort, finish and performance for bulk production.
∎ Technical Expertise:
∎ · Utilize extensive knowledge of woven structures, yarn selection, and textile finishing techniques to design and develop innovative woven products.
∎ · Experience in knit is also beneficial to align full spectrum of fabric development and cohesive product development as a team from the region.
∎ Relationship building:
∎ · Ensure close interaction with dedicated mills and wider network to foster trust and transparency with partner mills.
∎ Client Interaction & Collaboration:
∎ · Work closely with international clients and internal design team to present seasonal fabric concepts, incorporate feedback, and ensure all design developments align with brand standards and project requirements.
∎ Team Leadership:
∎ · Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering an environment of learning, creativity, and collaboration.
∎ ESG:
∎ · Clear understanding of business strategy around sustainable RM and practices across network of mills.
∎ Any other job as assigned by the management.
∎ Additional Requirements
∎ Minimum of 8 years of experience in woven fabric development and design, ideally within a multinational buying house or large-scale production environment.
∎ · Technical Proficiency: Expertise in textile design software, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and specialized woven wear software.
∎ · Creative Vision & Market Knowledge: Strong creative and aesthetic sense with an ability to interpret and implement fashion trends into commercially viable products.
∎ · Problem-Solving & Innovation: Excellent analytical skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation in fabric and design processes.
∎ · Communication: Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for direct client interactions and presentations.
∎ Education:
∎ Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) in Textile Technology preferred.
