Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Supervise, mentor, and motivate sample room staff, including pattern makers, tailors, and technicians, to ensure operational efficiency and the delivery of high-quality results.
∎ Manage the development of garment samples based on client or designer specifications, ensuring all technical requirements are met within established timelines.
∎ Conduct thorough quality checks on samples to guarantee adherence to required standards before sharing them with designers or clients.
∎ Provide technical guidance to address challenges in pattern making, cutting, stitching, and garment construction during sample production.
∎ Design and maintain an effective workflow within the sample room, ensuring tasks and projects are completed promptly.
∎ Coordinate with fabric sourcing and trims departments to ensure timely availability of required materials for sample production.
∎ Collaborate with production and costing teams to estimate sample development costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
∎ Oversee the creation and finalization of patterns for new designs, ensuring precision and production feasibility.₋ Serve as a liaison between designers, clients, and production teams to facilitate clear communication and efficient project execution.
∎ Maintain accurate records of sample requests, development processes, and final outcomes for future reference and audits.
∎ Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and innovations to recommend process improvements and implement modern solutions.
∎ Ensure all sample development activities comply with company standards, ethical practices, and sustainability goals.₋ Identify skill gaps among team members and organize training sessions or workshops to enhance their competencies.
