Experience:

• At least 7 years

Masters degree in Political Science/Governance/International development/Community development or related field of study.

• At least 7 years

• At least 7 years’ experience in policy and advocacy work, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of advocacy strategies. Experience working within Bangladesh MNH systems will be an added advantage.

• Excellent understanding of Bangladesh’s budget cycle and moments.

• An understanding of policy and legislative development processes at both national and local levels.

• Experience of developing advocacy strategies, knowledge and understanding of a range of advocacy techniques

• Excellent understanding of Sustainable Development Goals, policy and legal provisions in MNH.

• Good knowledge of the MNH field, including the work of academic/research contacts, NGOs, UN agencies

• Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex arguments into public and stakeholders and the ability to write articles that would be published in the mainstream press

• Fluency in spoken and written English and Bengali.

• Appropriate computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Agreement to spend at least 70% of time in the field is essential requirement.

The Opportunity

The Role holder will coordinate Strengthening the Maternal and Neonatal Health System in Rangpur, Bangladesh project related policy, advocacy and project learning work at divisional and district levels in Rangpur division as well as at the national level. S/he will coordinate coherent national and divisional policy advocacy plans and activities to achieve the project objectives focused on maternal and newborn health, in cooperation with the project team. S/he will support strategic relationships among MNH health networks at the national, divisional, and district levels and identify targets and deliver clear advocacy strategies to influence policy formulation/policy change/policy implementation. S/he will Work with the country office Advocacy, Campaigns, Communication and Media (ACCM) team to coordinate the policy advocacy campaign implementation and develop a policy advocacy related research agenda affecting MNH service. S/he will also be responsible to disseminate the information/research findings and develop appropriate communication channels for dissemination of information/research findings and capacity building for project staff.
