∎ Project Summary:
∎ Strengthening Emergency Preparedness and building infrastructure for Disaster Vulnerable Communities in Bangladesh (STEP & BuildIn) Project is aiming to improve the life and livelihood status of the vulnerable people by focusing on (i) Strengthening knowledge, response and recovery capacity of different stakeholders (ii) Reducing the disaster risk through improving physical structure and providing improve adaptive services to the community and (iii) Reducing the vulnerability of the community people through providing improved and alternative livelihoods.
∎ Role of this Position:
∎ Under the supervision of Project Coordinator, the Manager- MEAL will play the key person for qualitative and quantitative monitoring of the project from the phase of designing to evaluation measuring the indicator in line with project goals, objectives, outcomes and output. His role will be monitoring project plans and related activities to assess progress and bring to the attention of the project implementation teams any deviations or short falls and develop plan of actions for corrective measures.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop and finalize the MEAL plan of the project, provide necessary guideline to the team and ensure timely reporting.
∎ Provide technical assistance to the team to finalize MEAL report.
∎ Regular coordination with Project Managers and ensure qualitative and quantitative data through online based data collection system.
∎ Develop different kinds of knowledge products, stories considering project progress and positive changes in people's lives throughout the project implementation.
∎ Monitor the progress of the project and recommend further measures for ensuring progress.
∎ Extensive field visit for ensuring quality of the field level activities in terms of process and progress monitoring.
∎ Organize and provide necessary support for external evaluation of the project.
∎ Responsible to implement the developed outcome and impact-based M&E framework work and preparation of project reports during the project period.
∎ Assist for information dissemination to the community, developing Accountability tools.
∎ Take the leading role in capturing learning through review field notes, conducting learning assessments and facilitating workshops for capturing learning.
∎ Operate the web-based dynamic CCDB MIS software for implementing, monitoring, and reporting of the project activities in most cases.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 40 years
∎ Position requires at least five years of experience in monitoring and evaluation in development sector. Experiences in a project or program related to disaster risk reduction, Climate Change Adaptation, community development, livelihood improvement of vulnerable community is desired.
∎ Skill on capturing learning, innovation, knowledge management and qualitative and quantitative report writing both in English and Bangla.
∎ Strong analytical skills and understanding of database concepts.
∎ Proven track record on designing performance measurement framework, monitoring framework, logical framework and theory of change.
∎ Ability to operate with independence, under pressure, to meet deadlines and commitments.
∎ Can operate MS office package, SPSS, STATA.
∎ Proven ability to work as part of a team, and as part of a wider network, monitoring partner organization.
∎ Cultural sensitivity and ability to respect and work well with people from different backgrounds and disciplines.
∎ Willingness to visit and stay at remote area.
∎ Physical Requirements: Physically and mentally sound with good health, smart, energetic, ability to work in all situation and environment.
Salary: Tk. 55000 - 60000 (Monthly)
