Educational Requirements:
∎ Master's degree in environmental science, agriculture, food policy or related field from a recognized University;
Experience Requirements:
∎ 8 to 10 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Contribute to the development of comprehensive business model of robust food system development for production and supply of food from farm to fork;
∎ Lead and manage the planning of activities related to land and water use efficiency contributing to climate change adaptation and the protection of biodiversity;
∎ Provide technical insights to senior management team in designing and developing projects related to climate change and food system in Bangladesh;
∎ Induce research agenda and in collaboration with senior management, design research, related to food quality, nutrition, climate smart production technologies, consumer demand and environmental footprints of selected commodities;
∎ Collaborate with the M&E team to carry out, document and disseminate learning related to climate change and food system;
∎ Plan and implement Solidaridad's advocacy agenda on safe food supply system and climate smart agriculture.
∎ Initiate multi-stakeholder food policy dialogue at national and local levels to develop local healthy and circular food systems.
∎ Liaison with relevant government and non-government agencies to foster holistic food system development and integrate Solidaridad's efforts toward sustainable landscape development;
∎ Contribute to develop overall strategic guidance for future program design and implementation.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 8-10 years of experience in implementing climate adaptive agriculture related projects with an emphasis on food system and nutrition sensitive agriculture;
∎ Clear understanding on project design and evaluation tools (indicators) related to food system and climate change;
∎ Experience in engaging private sectors, government and NGO stakeholders in the food supply chains to ensure food availability, accessibility and safety;
∎ Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to formulate recommendations and advice for senior leadership that will inform development of relevant business lines; Ability to comprehend complex technical materials for providing evidence-based insights to the senior leadership for project design and implementation uptake;
∎ Ability to conduct market-based research including design, data collection, analysis and reporting.
∎ Professional computer skills (MS office suite);
∎ Excellent communication skills and fluent vocabulary and writing skills in English and Bangla;
∎ A highly cooperative team player and ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks is desirable;

∎ Strong ability to communicate and function effectively in local/international/multicultural environment;
∎ Open to travel in field location as often as required.
