The Required position will ensure all finishing operations from product checking to final packing, ensuring on-time delivery, buyer-required quality standards, and efficient resource utilization. The role ensures defect-free garments, balanced workflow, proper finishing layout, and adherence to all compliance and safety standards.
1. Key Responsibilities
A. Finishing Operations Management
Oversee and manage daily finishing processes:
Thread trimming, loose thread removal, measurement checking, ironing/pressing, tagging, folding, packing, poly, carton packing, and final inspection.
Ensure all garments meet buyer quality standards before shipment.
Maintain smooth production flow by minimizing WIP and maximizing efficiency.
Monitor finishing lines and take corrective actions to reduce rework, stains, shine marks, and measurement issues.
B. Production Planning & Control
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly finishing plans based on sewing output and shipment schedules.
Coordinate with planning, sewing, cutting, and quality teams for uninterrupted workflow.
Manage manpower planning, machine allocation (ironing tables, steam boilers, folders), and material availability.
Maintain all operational reports, including WIP, productivity, style-wise output, rejection, and final audit reports.
C. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure all finishing activities follow buyer SOPs and factory quality standards.
Work closely with QA teams and inline checkers to resolve quality issues immediately.
Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring defects and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with factory safety protocols, chemical handling for spotting, and buyer audit requirements.
D. Team Leadership & Development
Supervise finishing supervisors, line leaders, quality checkers, ironmen, packers, and helpers.
Train staff on quality, productivity improvement, safety procedures, and machine/iron handling.
Maintain discipline, attendance, motivation, and a clean working environment (5S).
E. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with merchandising and shipment departments for on-time order dispatch.
Attend PP meetings, quality meetings, and buyer inspection preparations.
Share daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports with senior management.
F. Process Improvement
Implement LEAN techniques such as 5S, Kaizen, and line balancing for higher productivity.
Introduce finishing layout optimization and automation where feasible.
Continuously improve processes to reduce cost, minimize bottlenecks, and increase efficiency.
