Job Summary:

The Manager – Fabric Dyeing Department is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising all dyeing operations to ensure that production targets, quality standards, and cost efficiency are met. The role involves managing manpower, machinery, chemicals, and processes while ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Control

  • Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly dyeing production schedules based on the order plan.

  • Ensure optimum utilization of machines, manpower, and resources.

  • Monitor batch processing, lead time, and on-time delivery.

2. Quality Management

  • Ensure dyed fabric meets customer shade, fastness, and quality standards.

  • Maintain consistency in shade matching and color reproducibility.

  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce re-dye and rejection.

3. Process Optimization

  • Develop and improve dyeing processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

  • Control chemical, dye, water, and energy consumption.

  • Introduce modern techniques and automation in dyeing operations.

4. Technical Supervision

  • Supervise dyeing, washing, drying, and finishing processes.

  • Troubleshoot dyeing faults such as shade variation, patchiness, uneven dyeing, etc.

  • Coordinate with the lab, chemical store, and maintenance teams.

5. Team Management

  • Lead and manage dyeing supervisors, operators, and workers.

  • Train and develop team members on SOPs, quality, and safety practices.

  • Maintain discipline and teamwork in the department.

6. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure environmental compliance related to ETP, chemical handling, and waste management.

  • Follow buyer compliance, ISO, and local regulatory standards.

  • Maintain safety and housekeeping on the dyeing floor.

7. Coordination

  • Coordinate with the knitting, finishing, and garment departments.

  • Communicate with merchandising and planning teams for order execution.

  • Work closely with the quality and R&D teams for new developments.

8. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare daily production, efficiency, and quality reports.

  • Monitor KPIs such as cost per kg, rejection rate, machine efficiency, etc.

  • Maintain all process records and technical documentation.
