Responsibilities & Context:
Oversee and manage the entire import process, ensuring timely and accurate execution of all commercial activities.
Responsible for all import-related documentation, including issuance of PI, L/C opening, amendments, corrections, shipment arrangements, negotiation, payment realization, and goods release through overseas phone and email communication.
Prepare, review, and verify import documents (LC, BL, Invoice, Packing List, COO, etc.) to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Analyze import costs, duties, taxes, and other related charges and provide cost-effective solutions to management.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of import policies, customs regulations, Bangladesh Bank guidelines, and international trade rules
Maintain effective liaison with Importer, suppliers, banks, C&F agents, shipping lines, and internal departments to ensure smooth import operations.
Monitor L/C status, shipment schedules, customs procedures, and ensure timely clearance of goods from ports.
Ensure proper follow-up on payment terms, negotiation documents, maturity dates, and bank communication for import settlements.
Coordinate with the accounts and finance team for payment issues, bank endorsements, and bill settlements.
Prepare regular reports on import status, L/C position, shipment timelines, and present updates to management.
Manage commercial team members, assign tasks, and ensure timely completion of operational activities.
Resolve import-related problems proactively and ensure uninterrupted supply of goods for business continuity.
