Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

The Manager – Capacity Building will lead the design, planning, and implementation of comprehensive capacity building strategies for staff, facilitators, and partners under the BRAC–LEGO strategic partnership. The role ensures high-quality training systems that strengthen delivery of play-based Early Childhood Development (ECD), caregiver engagement, inclusion (SEND), and MHPSS interventions across humanitarian and host community settings.

  • Lead the development and implementation of capacity building strategies aligned with programme goals, donor requirements, and global ECD standards

  • Design structured training frameworks, curricula, and learning pathways for different cadres including facilitators, supervisors, and technical staff

  • Develop training modules, facilitator guides, manuals, and tools on key thematic areas including play-based learning, responsive caregiving, SEND, safeguarding, and MHPSS

  • Ensure integration of adult learning principles, experiential learning, and participatory methodologies in all training programmes

  • Plan and oversee Training of Trainers (ToT), refresher trainings, orientations, and on-the-job coaching systems

  • Strengthen continuous professional development systems including mentoring, coaching, and supportive supervision approaches

  • Work closely with technical teams (ECD, MERL, Materials Development, QA) to align training content with programme design and field realities

  • Ensure capacity building initiatives are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to diverse learning needs of staff

  • Support the development of training plans for scale-up and phased implementation across camps and host communities

  • Monitor training effectiveness through assessments, feedback mechanisms, and post-training evaluations

  • Integrate learning from MERL findings, field observations, and programme reviews into training improvements

  • Coordinate with Head Office technical teams, consultants, and external experts to strengthen training quality and innovation

  • Support capacity strengthening of partner organizations and community-based structures where applicable

  • Ensure safeguarding, protection, and Do No Harm principles are embedded in all training content and delivery

  • Promote use of low-cost, contextually appropriate tools and approaches in training delivery

  • Maintain documentation of all training materials, reports, and capacity building activities

Safeguarding

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
