Job Summary:
The SCM Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing the company's supply chain operations, ensuring efficient procurement, production, and distribution processes. The role involves coordinating with various departments, managing supplier relationships, and implementing strategies to improve overall supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Analyze market trends and demand patterns to forecast inventory needs and adjust supply chain activities accordingly.
Procurement Management:
- Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.
- Ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
Inventory Control:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
- Implement inventory control procedures and systems to track and manage stock.
Logistics and Distribution:
- Coordinate and oversee the distribution of products to customers and ensure timely delivery.
- Optimize transportation and logistics operations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Production Planning:
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and minimize lead times.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular assessments to ensure quality and reliability.
Performance Metrics and Reporting:
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supply chain performance.
- Prepare and present regular reports on supply chain metrics and performance to senior management.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
- Implement contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain professionals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the supply chain team.
Compliance and Sustainability:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Promote sustainable practices within the supply chain, including reducing waste and improving environmental impact.
Working Conditions:
This role typically involves working in an office environment with occasional travel to suppliers, manufacturing sites, and distribution centers.The SCM Manager may need to work extended hours during peak periods or in response to supply chain disruptions.
