Education: Master’s Degree, preferably in Disaster/Crisis Management, Development Studies, International Relations, Social Science, Economics or relevant discipline. Candidate having professional certification in Humanitarian, Anticipatory, DRR activities will be an advantage.

Additional Requirements:
  • At least 6 years of project management experience, preferably in I/NGOs or UN agencies in the field of Humanitarian, Anticipatory Action (AA), DRR/CCA project activities.

  • Excellent knowledge of industry ‘best practices’ in humanitarian preparedness, early actions, emergency response, disaster risk reduction and resilience projects

  • Good understanding on hazard forecast interpretation, analysis, and country’s ongoing AA initiatives.

  • Good understanding on CHS (Core Humanitarian Standard), Humanitarian Code of Conduct, Cash and Voucher Assistance programming.

  • Excellent communication skills both in English and Bangla

  • Good supportive supervision skills

  • Hands-on computer (MS Office) operating skills

  • Ability to work in high stress situations such as emergency response.

The Opportunity

The Manager- Anticipatory Action, will be overall responsible for managing and supervising ECHO funded Anticipatory Action (AA) project. S/he will contribute to the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the project activities, including supervise the partner organizations, provide them strategic guidance and manage the project team to achieve the goal and targets. S/he needs to work with children, communities, I/NGOs and government stakeholders and makes planning for proper coordination and networking with concerned Anticipatory Action, DRR and emergency response stakeholders. S/he will be responsible for design the disaster forecast, AA planning and the overall reporting and documentation as well as maintain the project compliance along with the process and best practices. S/he will be responsible for monitoring the BvA of the partner`s budget and track the budget and guide implementing partner NGOs to maintain the financial records properly.
