Job Context: Sentry Security Services Ltd. is looking for an experienced, commercially minded and result-oriented finance professional for the position of Manager – Accounts & Finance.
The incumbent will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day accounting and financial operations, financial reporting, budgeting, cash-flow management, receivables and payables, payroll-related financial controls, taxation/VAT coordination, audit support and internal financial controls.
The position will work closely with the Managing Director/Management, Finance & Accounts Team, HR & Administration, Operations, Procurement, Sales & Business Development and external auditors, banks and regulatory authorities.
The successful candidate should have strong hands-on experience in accounting and financial management and the ability to manage finance operations for a large, service-oriented organization with multiple clients and operational locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial & Accounting Management
Manage the day-to-day Accounts & Finance functions of Sentry Security Services Ltd.
Ensure proper recording, classification and reconciliation of all financial transactions.
Supervise general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash and bank transactions.
Ensure timely preparation and review of vouchers, journals, ledgers and supporting documentation.
Maintain accurate and complete books of accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
Review monthly closing activities and ensure timely completion of accounting processes.
Ensure proper documentation and authorization of financial transactions.
2. Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
Prepare income statements, balance sheets, cash-flow statements and other financial schedules.
Provide management with accurate and timely financial information for decision-making.
Prepare financial analysis relating to revenue, costs, profitability, receivables, expenses and cash flow.
Develop management dashboards and financial performance reports where required.
Identify significant variances and recommend corrective actions.

3. Budgeting & Financial Planning
Coordinate preparation of the annual operating budget.
Assist management in preparing financial forecasts and business plans.
Monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets.
Analyze budget variances and recommend cost-control measures.
Prepare financial projections for new contracts, projects and business opportunities.
Support management in assessing the financial viability and profitability of new contracts.
4. Accounts Receivable & Client Billing
Supervise timely preparation and submission of client invoices.
Ensure accurate billing in accordance with contractual terms.
Monitor outstanding receivables and maintain an updated collection schedule.
Coordinate with the Sales, Operations and Client-Service Teams regarding billing discrepancies.
Follow up on overdue receivables and support timely collection.
Prepare monthly receivables ageing reports.
Monitor client advances, security deposits, adjustments and other receivable balances.
5. Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
Supervise vendor and supplier payments.
Verify invoices, supporting documents, approvals and contractual terms before payment.
Maintain accurate accounts payable ageing.
Ensure payments are made according to approved payment schedules.
Coordinate with Procurement and Administration regarding vendor-related financial matters.
Maintain proper records of supplier balances and payment commitments.
6. Cash & Bank Management
Monitor daily cash and bank balances.
Prepare cash-flow forecasts and ensure adequate liquidity for operational requirements.
Supervise bank reconciliation statements.
Coordinate with banks regarding account operations, statements, payment instruments and other banking matters.
Monitor bank charges, interest, loans and other financial transactions.
Maintain appropriate cash-management controls.
7. Payroll & Employee-Related Financial Control
Coordinate with HR and Payroll Teams to ensure accurate and timely salary processing.
Review payroll-related financial information and supporting schedules.
Ensure proper accounting of salaries, allowances, bonuses, deductions and employee-related liabilities.
Coordinate financial arrangements relating to employee benefits and statutory payments.
Ensure payroll-related reconciliations are completed on time.
8. VAT, Tax & Regulatory Compliance
Supervise accounting support for applicable VAT and income-tax compliance.
Coordinate preparation and submission of relevant VAT/tax returns and statements with the responsible tax/VAT professionals.
Ensure proper maintenance of VAT and tax documentation.
Monitor withholding tax/TDS/TCS requirements as applicable.
Maintain records required for tax/VAT audits and regulatory inspections.
Liaise with external tax/VAT consultants and relevant authorities when required.
9. Internal Control & Compliance
Establish and strengthen internal financial controls.
Ensure proper segregation of duties and authorization procedures.
Monitor compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
Identify financial control weaknesses and recommend improvements.
Minimize financial errors, unauthorized transactions and potential fraud risks.
Conduct periodic review of financial processes and supporting documentation.
Ensure proper safeguarding of company assets and financial records management informed of significant changes in applicable financial, VAT and tax requirements.
10. Audit Management
Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
Prepare audit schedules, supporting documents and financial information.
Respond to audit queries and coordinate timely resolution of audit observations.
Maintain proper audit trails and supporting documentation.
Follow up on implementation of agreed audit recommendations.
11. Cost Control & Profitability Analysis
Monitor operational and administrative expenses.
Analyze cost structures of different service contracts and business units.
Support management in determining service profitability and cost efficiency.
Analyze manpower-related costs, overtime, allowances and other major operational expenses.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising service quality.
Prepare contract-wise or client-wise profitability analysis where required.
12. Security Services Contract Financial Management
Review financial aspects of security-service contracts before implementation.
Assist management in evaluating manpower costs, statutory costs, allowances, bonuses and other contract-related expenses.
Monitor contract revenue versus operational costs.
Ensure timely billing according to agreed contract terms.
Highlight contracts with significant margin pressure, delayed payments or financial risks.
Support the Operations and Business Development Teams with financial information for quotations and proposals.
13. MIS & Management Support
Prepare regular financial MIS for senior management.
Develop financial KPIs and dashboards.
Provide management with financial analysis and recommendations.
Support strategic decision-making through accurate financial information.
Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as required by management.
14. Team Management
Supervise, guide and develop the Accounts & Finance Team.
Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
Establish appropriate accounting procedures and reporting timelines.
Train team members on accounting systems, internal controls and company procedures.
Conduct performance reviews and recommend training or development requirements.
15. Other Responsibilities
Coordinate with banks, auditors, consultants, vendors, clients and regulatory authorities as required.
Support management in financial due diligence for new business opportunities.
Assist in implementation or improvement of accounting/ERP systems.
Ensure confidentiality and security of financial information.
Perform other duties assigned by the Management.
