PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation of tax returns, maintaining comprehensive tax documentation, and supporting effective tax planning initiatives. The role ensures compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations while identifying opportunities to optimize tax efficiency and minimize tax liabilities for the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the accurate preparation and timely submission of Income Tax returns, monthly Withholding Tax Returns, and other statutory tax filings in compliance with applicable requirements.
Coordinate with relevant functions, project accountants, and field offices to collect, consolidate, and validate TDS, AIT, tax expenses, and other tax-related information across projects.
Prepare and analyse project-wise monthly TDS reports, ensuring that deductions, deposits, and related transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with applicable tax requirements.
Review tax-related General Ledger (GL) accounts and liaise with project accountants and relevant functions to identify, clarify, and resolve discrepancies and reporting issues.
Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date tax records, supporting documents, returns, and statutory documentation in both physical and electronic formats.
Collaborate with the Payables team, Project Accounts, and other relevant functions to streamline tax processes, strengthen controls, and improve the efficiency and turnaround time of TDS return processing.
Support the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of TDS reporting and monitoring mechanisms within the ERP system to enhance accuracy, transparency, and efficiency.
Monitor changes and updates to the Income Tax Act, Rules, SROs, Tax and VAT regulations, and other relevant legislation, and communicate key implications to concerned stakeholders to ensure continued organisational compliance.
Maintain effective liaison and regular communication with NBR officials, tax consultants, advisors, lawyers, and other relevant authorities and stakeholders on tax-related matters concerning BRAC and its entities.
Provide guidance and support to relevant teams on tax-related matters, facilitate knowledge sharing, and coordinate across functions to strengthen compliance, ensure consistent practices, and improve overall tax reporting and management processes.

Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
