. Experience in project financing and corporate financial management will be an added advantage.
. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial management, taxation, VAT, and corporate finance.
· Sound understanding of BFRS/IAS, Companies Act, and Bangladesh taxation laws.·
. Excellent analytical, reporting, and budgeting skills.
· Strong leadership and team management capability.
. Good communication and negotiation skills.
· Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, ERP,Troyee/accounting software, and financial reporting tools.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
1. Financial Reporting & Financial Statements
Independently prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial statements in accordance with BAS/BFRS and other applicable laws, rules, and regulations of Bangladesh.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, proper classification, reconciliation, and timely closing of books of accounts.
Prepare financial schedules, notes to accounts, supporting statements, and other financial reports as required.
2. Accounting & Financial Operations
Supervise and review general accounting activities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable & Receivable, bank reconciliation, fixed assets, accruals, provisions, and inter-company transactions.
Ensure proper accounting treatment and documentation of financial transactions and maintain accurate books of accounts.
Ensure appropriate accounting and reporting of power generation-related costs, plant maintenance expenses, fuel, inventory/spares, fixed assets, depreciation, and CAPEX/CWIP.
3. Tax, VAT & Statutory Compliance
Ensure timely compliance with applicable Income Tax, VAT, withholding tax, Companies Act, and other statutory and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with tax/VAT consultants and relevant authorities and ensure proper maintenance of supporting records and documentation.
Keep management informed of significant changes in accounting, tax, VAT, and regulatory requirements affecting the company.
4. Audit, Control & Management Reporting
Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure timely completion of statutory and internal audits.
Ensure effective internal financial controls and timely resolution of audit observations.
Prepare MIS, financial analysis, budget variance reports, cash-flow statements, and other reports to support management decision-making.
5. Team Management & Coordination
Supervise, guide, and develop the Accounts & Finance team to ensure timely and accurate completion of departmental activities.
Coordinate with Corporate Office, Power Plant, Operations, Procurement, Commercial, and other relevant departments on accounting and financial matters.
Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Management from time to time.
