Experience:
Minimum SSC or equivalent qualification.
Technical training or vocational skills in mechanical operations is required.
Minimum 5 years of practical experience in operating manufacturing or soap production machinery; experience in livelihood or cooperative-based production projects is an advantage.
Proven expertise in machine operation, routine maintenance, and adherence to safety procedures.
Ability to identify mechanical faults and perform basic troubleshooting to ensure smooth operation.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment.
Physically fit and capable of working in factory or field-based production settings.
Strong sense of discipline, responsibility and willingness to follow instructions and workplace protocols.
Basic knowledge of gender, protection, and inclusion principles, ensuring respectful engagement with all participants.
Good communication skills in Bangla and basic English; knowledge of Rohingya and local dialects of Cox’s Bazar will be considered an added advantage.

Job Context
PHALS is a non-governmental organization (NGO) working in the field of humanitarian assistance and development since 1996. In this continuation, PHALS is going to implement the Clean Futures Cooperative: A WASH–Livelihoods Model for Refugee and Host Resilience Project in Cox’s Bazar funded by FCDO and supported by IOM. We are seeking a qualified and Expert Machine Operator who will Operate and maintain soap production machinery to ensure smooth and efficient production under the Clean Futures Cooperative: A WASH–Livelihoods Model for Refugee and Host Resilience project. The role includes monitoring the production process, maintaining product quality standards, and ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene protocols to support livelihood and WASH objectives of PHALS.
Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain soap production machines (mixing, cutting, stamping, drying, and packaging units) in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Monitor production activities to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with approved formulations.
Prepare machines for operation, including setup, calibration, and shutdown after production cycles.
Perform regular cleaning and basic maintenance of machines to prevent faults and ensure smooth functioning.
Identify and promptly report technical problems or malfunctions to the supervisor or technical staff for timely resolution.
Ensure adherence to all safety, hygiene, and environmental standards during production and handling of materials.
Support the production team in measuring raw materials, packaging finished products, and maintaining an organized workspace.
Maintain accurate daily production logs and inventory records, ensuring accountability and traceability of materials.
Uphold PHALS’ values, code of conduct, and commitment to safeguarding and PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse).
