  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management/Supply chain Management or logistics coordination, preferably in host community settings in any reputable NGO.

  • Proven experience in managing inventory, implementing stock control systems, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Knowledge of inventory management software and warehouse management systems.

  • Ability to manage and supervise a team effectively, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a multicultural and challenging environment.

  • Good at speaking and writing in Bengali.

  • Can understand and use basic English for speaking and writing.

  • Knowing the local language is helpful.

Responsibilities & Context:

Society for Health Extension and Development (SHED) a National NGO working in Cox`s Bazar district is inviting applications from suitable candidate(s) for its Programme title ‘Improving Maternal and Child Nutrition (IMCN) at Host Community-Cox’s Bazar. The Programme is funded by WFP. SHED is looking for a qualified candidate for the following Post.

Job purpose: This person will help make sure the program runs smoothly by managing the storage area well and keeping track of supplies. They will also monitor what`s happening in the field by working with the people we help, the volunteers, and the program`s resources. They will work closely with the Upazila Nutrition Coordinator and the Logistics & Procurement Officer and help other staff in the Upazila.

Role Profile:

  • Working with the Upazila Nutrition Coordinator or the Logistics/Procurement Officer and other teams, the storekeeper will:

  • Keep the storage area organized.

  • Receive food supplies and update the records for the storage area.

  • Move supplies from the storage to the different places where the program works.

  • Talk to the drivers ahead of time to make sure supplies get to the right locations on time.

Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of Upazila Nutrition Coordinator and Logistics/Procurement Officer, this position will undertake the following tasks:

Stock/Storage Management

  • Maintain receipts, records, and withdrawals of the stockroom.

  • Receive, unload, and shelve supplies.

  • Log and update all stocks information on appropriate registers, stock cards, bin cards.

  • Conduct regular physical checks on stock safety and security.

  • Conduct regular physical count of stocks.

  • Regularly monitor the quality of products during storage. Pay special attention to expiration dates.

  • Carry out monthly stock inventory for program and reconciliation with what should be in stock.

  • Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control and archive documents related to stock.

  • In Coordination with program team, prevent pipeline breakage, ration card fraud, WSB misuse/wastage and supply leakage at various supply chain interfaces.

  • Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies; report those to account for reimbursements and record keeping.

  • Rotate stock and coordinate the disposal of surpluses and prepare documents related to stock movement from warehouse to any facilities of the program.

  • Coordinate the handling of freight, the movement of equipment, and necessary minor repairs.

  • Ensure cleanliness and proper organization of stocks, files, warehouse accessory tools, safety equipment.

  • Dispatch commodity to the distribution sites during distribution date

  • Take part on distribution activities and give support to the volunteers until end of the distribution process.

Reporting Learning and strengthen capacity and cross cutting.

  • Prepare monthly and weekly supply reports and ad-hoc reports as requested and timely submit to Upazila Nutrition Coordinator or Logistics/Procurement Officer.

  • Document and immediately report stock damage, theft/loss, or attempted break-ins, expiry, contamination related incidents.

  • Develop and submit regular warehouse and inventory reports to line manager(s)

  • Liaising with the Upazila Nutrition Coordinator and Logistics/Procurement Officer and supply focal (DPM) from program team for all supply related issues.

Ensure organizational policies and donor compliances are in place.

  • Be aware of, understand and comply with all of SHED`s policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management, PSEA etc.)

  • Ensure that assigned volunteers understand and comply with all of SHED`s policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management, PSEA etc.)

  • Work in a manner that always protects confidentiality.

Besides the above-mentioned job activities, you must do any other job assigned by your supervisor & the organization as and when required.
