Job Responsibilities:
∎ Advise beneficiary about their problems
∎ Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals
∎ Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents
∎ Present and summarize cases
∎ Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases
∎ Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case
∎ Represent clients in court or before government agencies
∎ Examine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuit
∎ Prepare and draft legal documents
∎ Negotiate settlements of civil disputes and conduct mediation
∎ Search for and examine public and other legal records to write opinions or establish ownership
∎ Supervise junior legal officers
∎ Prepare monthly/quarterly work plan and progress report
∎ Perform administrative and management functions
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Familiar with GBV case management and experience working with refugee
∎ Must adhere to GBV/CP Core Guiding Principles and international humanitarian principles and standards for GBViE/ CPiE
∎ Cultural awareness and sensitivity, prior experience in Rohingya camps is preferable
∎ Strong background and skills in facilitating trainings, coaching and mentoring others
∎ Experience in program/project management;
∎ IT literate with knowledge of MS word, Excel and internet programs.
∎ Able to travel frequently at different project location
∎ Flexible, friendly, interested to learn continuously
∎ Have effective communication and presentation skills.
∎ Ability to work in team
