• Minimum 5 years of experience with at least 3 years’ experience of working in a legal team of a bank or financial institution.

• Strong knowledge of Business Law, Contract Law, Corporate Governance, and Dispute Resolution.

• Excellent legal drafting, communication, and analytical skills

• Concept about the implement of civil & Criminal law or working as a lawyer.

• Vetting of property related documents, giving opinion on contentious matters, preparing various deeds, agreement etc.

• Handling litigation and documentation related to banking operations, drafting Legal Notices, Plaints, Written Objections/Statements etc.

• Representing the Bank in litigation, particularly in recovery and regulatory matters.

• Advising relevant departments on legal issues in day-to-day affairs.

• Liaising with external counsel and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

• Initiate and manage legal actions against defaulting clients, including drafting and filing suits, monitoring proceedings, and supporting recovery efforts

• Represent the Bank in civil and criminal matters before subordinate courts and the High Court Division; coordinate with external legal counsel and attend hearings as required

• Vet and draft legal documents such as contracts, deeds, agreements, written statements, bank guarantees, and legal notices

• Liaise with external law chambers, courts, and government/non-government authorities to support litigation and regulatory processes, supervise panel lawyers and ensure timely, effective legal action in pending cases

• Provide legal opinions and guidance to branches and departments on regulatory, compliance, and contractual matters

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and respond to inquiries from regulators such as Bangladesh Bank, BSEC and the Ministry of Finance

• Conduct legal research and risk assessment to support compliance and minimize legal exposure.

• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of legal proceedings, court decisions, and case status updates

• Perform any other legal responsibilities assigned by the competent authority in the interest of the Bank.
