• Previous experience in a hotel laundry, commercial laundry or similar environment is preferred

• Basic knowledge of laundry equipment, washing processes and stain removal.

• Ability to identify different fabrics and select appropriate cleaning methods.

• Good attention to detail and quality.

• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and handle linen loads.

• Ability to work in a hot and humid working environment.

• Good teamwork and communication skills.

• Reliable, hardworking and responsible attitude.

• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays

The Laundry Attendant will be responsible for the proper collection, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding and distribution of hotel linen, uniforms and guest laundry while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, sort and process hotel linen, towels, uniforms and other laundry items.

• Handle guest laundry according to hotel procedures and established service standards.

• Operate washing machines, dryers, ironing equipment, presses and other laundry equipment safely.

• Select appropriate washing cycles, temperatures and detergents according to fabric and item requirements.

• Inspect laundry items for stains, damage and cleanliness before and after processing.

• Pre-treat stains and use appropriate stain-removal procedures.

• Ensure all linen and uniforms are properly washed, dried, pressed, folded and presented.

• Separate hotel linen, uniforms, guest laundry and other items to prevent loss or incorrect processing.

• Maintain accurate records of guest laundry received, processed and returned.

• Ensure guest laundry is delivered within the agreed turnaround time.

• Report damaged, missing, stained or heavily soiled items to the Laundry Supervisor.

• Assist with maintaining adequate stocks of clean linen and uniforms.

• Sort and store clean linen and uniforms in designated areas.

• Follow proper linen rotation procedures, including FIFO where applicable.

• Assist with regular linen and uniform inventories.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area at all times.

• Clean and maintain laundry equipment and report technical problems to Engineering or the Laundry Supervisor.

• Use detergents, chemicals and cleaning products safely and according to instructions.

• Follow hotel hygiene, health and safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.

• Handle guest belongings with care, confidentiality and professionalism.

• Minimize wastage of water, electricity, chemicals and other laundry resources.

• Report equipment faults, safety hazards and unusual incidents immediately.

• Assist other Housekeeping operations when required.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the Laundry Supervisor or Executive Housekeeper
