Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist in performing laboratory tests
∎ Assist in Media preparation and autoclaving sample bottles and equipment
∎ Prepare samples/specimens, Classify and label samples
∎ Collect samples from different collection points
∎ Perform on spot parameter test
∎ Keep record during sample collection
∎ Receivable of laboratory materials from vendor and keep the record
∎ Oversees unpacking, counting supplies and products and setting up equipment and instruments
∎ Perform daily quality control checks
∎ Document all activities
∎ Clean and sterilize equipment and work area
∎ Undertake basic administrative tasks such as filing, receiving and transferring of products from logistic and store department to laboratory
∎ Monthly inventory of the water quality laboratory supplies and prepare report to the team lead
∎ Follow all safety guidelines when using lab equipment and performing tests
∎ Carefully note outcomes from tests
∎ Assist in inventory management and arrangement
∎ Frequent field visit at assigned working area
∎ Lab waste management and disposal
∎ Regularly update the supervisor on work progress
∎ Ensure the overall Water Quality Laboratory remained functional Any other task assigned by supervisor
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
∎ This position will be responsible for supporting Microbiologists in conducting various tests and experiments. Their main duties include preparing test samples, assist in doing lab test, keeping lab records and documenting test findings and assist in maintaining the laboratory guidelines to keep laboratory functional.
